Footyfan2 wrote: Fair enough Ti Em ..........How is it that apart from Subiaco, South Fremantle, Claremont and West Perth are competitive every season usually? I think it mostly down to the composition of the board and the decisions they make like any business/organisations. Success can usually be attributed to sound leadership decisions. Apart from Monkey and Condo the others mean well but have been there long enough to make a difference but have not. I say give someone else a go. Shane Woewodin was an obvious choice for coach. Apparently the leadership group wanted Woey! The executive chose not to pursue Woey......

Water under the bridge now - Bill's coach and needs to be given time just the same as Woewodin would have if he had been appointed. I doubt the entire board was behind the coach's appointment nor am I convinced that what happens off the field and on the field are as co related as you make out.

Another close but no cigar result....6, 4, 5 pts last 3 games v sides sitting 2, 3 and 4. Oh for a tall forward who can kick a goal....does the coaching team roll the dice and pick Loersch and Bonomelli...and hope one of them can kick a bag....obviously kicking 4 in the last 5 mins got EF close in the end, but those last min 2nd and 3rd quarter goals by Cl kept EF at arms length till the end....

great win by the colts with back to back victories over the previously unbeaten WP and Cl....good to see young 15 yr old Gero boy Jed Hagan pick up 28 possessions v the top side...one for the future hopefully

I think the idea of playing a few targets up front has merit. Both Loersch and Bonomelli up front with Bailey and some smalls like Ryan, Murphy, Murdock, Kommer, Monaghan would be good to try out. The scoreline today does flatter - it was pretty ordinary stuff. We continue to give our opponents way too much space. Our skills so often are poor. We totally lack direction so not having targets up front, as already mentioned, makes for frustrating viewing. This is exercebated by not playing the best 22 we have available. Monaghan, Tassone, Riach and Bailey all pants today.

I think you're a little hard on Bailey- who kicked 3 points and looked dangerous at times.

I was a little more positive leaving the game- a couple of bad patches of football cost EF the game. EF had a great half to the start of the 3rd quarter into the breeze but undid it with 3 late goals to Claremont. I genuinely felt they would win the game with that late flurry, but much like the WP and Perth games, couldn't deliver the knockout blow.

I thought Leggett, Bennett, Jansen, Ryan and Lester-Smith were excellent. Bolton and Mitchell were good for Claremont as well as Busher and Hamp.

Didn't see any of the Reserves but saw Bonomelli kicked another bag of 5. Burton, Meade, Mcguire all in the best players.

Ken Smith or Brad Smith strono? If its the latter, he is forgiven due to his 79 flag....if it's the former then it doesn't surprise me one bit...complete an utter spud that fella during his time at EF.
