You keep getting drawn back to this because you are using it in an attempt to claim some moral high ground despite there quite reasonably being a question mark placed against MRP's spiteful behavior once it was established the player had no intention of staying at the club. Then you seem to suggest EFFC don't pay creditors, honour contracts or act responsibly financially. If that is EFFC how have they managed to survive for 122 years i ask you?

As the posts keep coming in on this thread, so does the money into the GMF pot for the EFFC...not sure if there is a direct correlation between the Perth boys posting here and the GFM pot filling on the EFFC site.. but hey keep it coming and going..

Can some one tell DF that EF have gone 99K over his 1K GFM page estimate....tell DF no need to apologise for getting it wrong...we are only human and can't be right all the time...accept or except Teddy of course....well done to all.

OK, I give up. You guys win. More fool me for trying to reason with people who inhabit a bizarro world. A world in which a player can break a contract because a rival club offered more money. In which a player can break a contract simply because he would prefer to play for a rival club. In which false equivalence is drawn between a fringe player and a top tier player. In which a party which seeks to do no more than enforce a binding contract is described as "unethical" and "spiteful." Jesus wept.

Spin it any way you like, Tropiano wasn’t a fringe player, he was contracted and EF didn’t have to clear him. But they did

For a long time and I remember Tropiano well- in his 21st year he'd played 27 career games and was averaging 19 touches- far superior to Leggetts' output. He'd played 6 League and 3 Ressies (in 14) before jumping ship. In a Midfield that was pretty handy at the time (Prelim in 14).

EF had every right to hold him to his contract- as Perth have done.

He played 3 Ressies games. Played 27 over the first 2 years of his Senior career and had averaged 19 in a strong midfield. I can see why he seeked more opportunity- with O'Brien, McNamara, McGough, Eardley floating around. Doesn't mean they had to clear him or he was regarded as a fringe player- he'd play 23 League and 6 Ressies over the last season and a bit!

If they did it would not of been hard as it emerged he was being paid less than the average WAFL league footballer. But where is the proof EFFC did? You could of done what plenty of other sporting clubs the world over do when this happens - renegotiate! Your inability to do so suggests you are either pigheaded tight arses at MRP or had done something to turn the player away. The guy was happy to walk and sit the season out, Coach wants out also, put that with 4 wins from your last 13 games and a last round loss to a club below you on the ladder when a win sees you in the finals for what seems like the first time since weeping Jesus was a boy - suggests one thing - a serious Culture problem at MRP!

Come on TN, credit where credit is due. Their big squeeze of the lemon got them FIVE times what they were going to fork out to formalise their bad behaviour on leggett.

They’ve got leggett and 100k!!!

And not much else going for them.

PS I got told they did the go fund me thing because they still want to pay for leggett to play this year and didn’t have the cash to pay the original clearance offer...anyone else heard this...

Yeh, I heard it from a friend of a friend of my aunt’s uncle’s friend who wasn’t a friend. FFS, I can’t believe you could be so Dorothy Evans and say something so freakin stupid. The Monty Python writers would be so jealous of some of you Perth boys.:S

Only difference worth spotting is that ....Leggett played league(like Tropiano did) and then Leggett wanted to leave(like Tropiano did) ....because both boys got a better offer despite being under contract....EF obliged the players request and Perth didn't.....not sure what was Perth's problem TBH....

Yes Trop used to play league and then he didn’t anymore..so he wanted to leave and effc said okay. Leggett played league...

Spot the difference.

Who else does the ???? owe money to???
