Some clubs fly premiership flags on top of their scoreboard on match days - naturally East Freo has a large scoreboard. Helps explains why MRP's is teeny weeny - though being tight arses probably is another factor.

Yes, how dare we be financially responsible, honour our contracts and pay our creditors. We should go all out for a flag, without regard for ethics or contracts, or who we burn along the way, and sort the mess out later.

Ha, a subi supporter having a crack at another club about money. Unbelievable. Anyway just to correct the record it is a promise of 1 mill if it ever gets done. So no money has changed hands bud.

That comes from living a privilege of entitlement over the last 20 plus years STT, it's ok as along as it's them that is benefiting, not someone else.

Surely you are not suggesting EFFC is not financially responsible, does not honour contracts and does not pay its creditors - to do so would be slanderous. I would ask you is it ethical to attempt to force a player who no longer wishes to play for you to do so?

As to your first point: grow up. As to the second, yes, for reasons I have already explained at length. And also re the second point: grow up.

Perhaps it is you that needs to grow up Ted and accept others can and do see attempts to force a player who has grown unhappy with a club and no longer wants to be there to stay as not only draconian but also unethical.

I'm afraid I can't except that at all. Nor can I accept it. Are you seriously suggesting that it should be regarded as unethical to uphold a contract? You are re-writing the rules of law and commerce here.

Ti Em, you don't have to reflexively defend your club no matter what. It is possible to maintain support for the cub while admitting when they have done something wrong. Your relentless and prolonged pursuit of another club's contracted player, involving subverting his contract by offering more money and making promises you can't keep about getting him drafted, was reprehensible. It's not a matter of opinion. The only people who have defended EF over this have been EF fans. Why do you reckon that is? You guys are just bunkering down, approaching this from an emotional, partisan standpoint rather than being objective. That's why I say grow up.

Me re-writing the rules of law is impossible just like you knowing what every non East Fremantle supporters feels or think. I am merely questioning the ethics of a club attempting to force someone who clearly has no intention to play for them to do so.

I can’t cop Perth people saying that it’s in unethical when they pursued and signed a contracted Tropiano half way through a season. The difference was that EF negotiated a deal that suited everyone and moved on

I wish I could avoid getting drawn back into this - God knows it's been done to death - but I just can't let this level of stupid go unchecked. Tropiano was a fringe player at EF. That doesn't mean he wasn't a required player. What is does mean is that EF would have understood very well that had he taken EF to arbitration, he would almost certainly have won. It is well recognised that the arbitrator will approve a clearance where a player is not getting an opportunity to play league. Leggett was not just a required player, he was one of our best half dozen players, and a member of the leadership group. Clubs don't clear players of that calibre. If you were chasing Dennis, or Henderson, or Browne, there would have been no issue.

Let me be clear: there is no problem sounding a club out about a player transfer. I imagine that happens all the time. But once Perth told you we were not interested in negotiating, it was incumbent on you to back off. You certainly shouldn't have been discussing money and other conditions with Leggett after Perth told you we wouldn't deal. Did you tell Perth, in no uncertain terms, that you weren't prepared to deal on Tropiano and that we would have to wait until his contract expired? If you did, and we kept persisting, I will gladly level the same criticism at my club.
