Hmmm, begging. Would never have thought of that.

Most fundraisers have sort of acknowledgment involved. A plaque, whatever. Christ could be a little pin.

This is just outright begging.

I would be embarrassed if my club did it.

You don’t have to be embarrassed buddy, you are an embarrassment.

Don’t worry, they are considering it!

Why? You think it’s rough now, wait until next year. Better to get in early instead of sitting on your hands.

I’m sure most clubs, bar Swans I’d suggest, will roll out fundraising initiatives over the next 6 months.

I’m sure the EF board would rather not have to do this, but it is what it is. You know when I think back to when Subi needed a hand up, there were no DF’s, DD’s, STT’s or FF2’s slagging them. People just donated.

I also said at the start 58 that it's a great initiative by EF and actually donated myself. If you scroll through the donors you'll see one by "Subi Supporter" for $50 very early on...I think back to when lots of people kept Subi alive in the 70's as you say so have a long memory.

Cheers for that BC....77K and still rising....as embarrassing as it may be or look for some....I think EF 22 years without a flag is a tad more of an embarrassment....heavens know what I will feel if EF reach the landmark of embarrassment of say 40 odd years...

I don't feel embarrassed - i feel concerned more than anything. That has started to subside though because the response (in what are very difficult times for most) has been very good. Actually when you see the love that is out there for he EFFC club and the generosity that people have shown - that is something very positive. Not an embarrassment. The small amount of negativity on here from those who find trolling gratifying is more embarrassing.

True mate....it's a concern as you say after 20 odd years....but surely it would be true to say, after 40 odd years that concern you speak off now, would change to one of embarrassment?

I guess in an age where the AFL dominates all footy wise, it has been great to see some fans head back to their original WAFL roots and support a club they probably used to follow back in the day when the WAFL was vibrant and strong pre WCE and Freo.....you just have to look at some of those u tube GF replays to see the large crowds watching their team play come finals day...

Premiership droughts are a separate issue. Survival now has become the overhanging concern and a cash injection against the tide of revenue loss is imperative. Not just for EFFC but most other clubs too.

Fantastic effort by the EFFC and it's supporters, the envy from some other supporters on this site is palpable.
