In 1982 the club had a crisis meeting as they were $300,000 in debt. the club was living beyond its means.The club had to pay a huge transfer fee to get Peter Spencer back to the club.Considerable expenditure upgrading the restaurant. President Mal Atwell believed the players were also being paid too much and players were asked to take a substantial pay cut which led to a lot of players moving clubs from 1983 onwards.

Not sure of his contract with north.Had a reasonable first year with 19 games but injury meant he only played 5 1n 1982.
