Sorry, WCE 1987  I am no longer in the 'know' for this stuff anymore. You would be better off to ask the moderator as I think he is closer to the halls of power at the club.

Randall cleared to train in March and play in May 2023!

With Michael Randall being free to play, we look like we'll have a very useful midfield brigade in 2023, Grump.
Hoping that they also hit the scoreboard regularly, because I don't think we have a 50-goal-a-season forward in our ranks.
Though I'd be happy if either of the two Toms, Graham and Medhat, prove me wrong.

I reckon that if the mid field plays to its potential and we reduce our junk kicks and handballs.

I do not see the point of getting 30 or more possessions when less than 10% are effective especially going into the forward line, how much more pressure do you want to put on your own players let alone making easier for defenders.

I do think the Toms and Medhat can do the job but I would try Schumaker at CHF, I think he would be a handful to defend and has a great long kick so anything around 55 metres is going to go close or be a kick to advantage.

I have had the same thought about Schumacher. With so many midfielders coming in i also would be tempted to play him forward and maybe rotating on the ball. if necessary. At 193 cm he is taller than Medhat who had to play key forward last year.He could even play swingman back and forward if we can get the midfield right.

I sure others have done so before me, but I went down to training last evening.

There was supposed to be a match sim, but the council decided to fence off some of the area in front of goals at the Vincent st end, oh well!

It is always hard to judge what the feeling is but from those I spoke to there seemed to be a positive vibe and an expectation that we will win a few more games. There were great comments abt the recruits and what they have brought to the club. The FM is still looking for a tall forward but without any prompting suggested that if the mid field works the way it is expected our forwards will have a much better chance to kick a winning score. Medhat, Graham (he was not with the main group, but this is apparently not an issue), Scofield and Van Dieman looked fitter than last year but that is probably due to understanding where they need to be at this stage of the season!

If you're interested there is a match sim at the Aquinas playing fields in Waterford this Saturday, bit far for me at this stage.

Grump, it's also our WAFLW team's first-ever competition game, against West Perth at Leederville (bouncedown at 2 pm).
Good luck to your grandkids in their 800 and 1500 finals.

I thought the little A's was next weekend unless they have moved the long distance to this weekend.

Good luck to the girls and can't wait to see what the futures kids do. WP had 2 state players in their 15's squad last year if I remember rightly so should be strong.

Futures was listed at 10am but it is being played at 4pm in case no one knows of the change.
