A lot has changed at East Perth, new coach, some losses and some gains.

On the coaching front with McQueen and the colts coach being promoted I thought that we would be going down the development pathway but as it has been rightly pointed out elsewhere, I might have been and probably will be wrong. I always hold out some hope that we will pay more attention to developing rather than clogging our list with c grade players from other teams. The coaching panel has changed a lot with the previous regime members largely leaving

McCreadie looks ok from all reports, the others seem to be young players who think their chances at EP are better than where they have come from!

Heya Grump!

Have you been watching the colts? Do you see any that could go on and do something at league level?

Young BK will be better for his games last year as an under ager and boy does that kid hit hard!! Darcy Miller is 6"2 but still lightly framed. Listed at 68kg but I suspect he's 80kg now maybe a bit more. Another 5-6kg he will be a great size and loves the hard stuff. Xavier Walsh will be one to watch in colts this year. Likely draft prospect I'd say. Ripping size and lovely skills.

There are few boys like Miller, Williams and Harris that I reckon could be playing ressies sooner than later, I notice that Daniel Moore is not on any list.

Another is Della Franca who is a good size.

Will need to go to training and see who is on the track and showing the development required.

Grump have you heard anything about EP juniors this year. The Wafc rezone has EP picking up Innaloo of Claremont,Caversham off Swans..Both strong junior clubs.
All new areas west of West Swan Road to Gnangara Road. Some big potential growth areas along and around Lord Street.Brabham,West Swan,White man,Beechboro.Dayton.
The loss of Alexander Heights to Subi will hurt Ballajura JFC.
Juniors will go from 8 to 10 teams in 2023.

GTR, I have not kept up with much at the club since seasons end, lot happening in the 'real' world with relatives and mates passing, folk playing keyboard heroes and so football has slipped in my focus.

Hopefully it has calmed down now, and I can develop a bit more interest and enthusiasm.

Alexio Yiannakis is the one to watch from your colts. Knows where to find the footy and what to do with it.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

I don't see how picking up a junior club really helps any of the WAFL clubs. Half of the Caversham juniors are still zoned to swans anyway as they live in addresses assigned to swans. There have been a few from those regions who have moved to EP from Swans, EP lost a couple to other clubs due to the zones etc.

The talent managers typically share names to the other clubs if they find someone that should be in a talent program. "typically" lol

In my youth team I have kids from 4 WAFL clubs. Swans and EP are the only 2 clubs to come watch my kids even though Perth and Claremont have kids assigned to their club in my team.

Back to the thread but we had an issue with kicking goals last season. So, from the players we have - Schofield, Medhat, Graham, presumably Palfrey, Page, Taylor? Regan, Henry, Davidson? and Scott, what does the forward look like, and yes, I know we would like more players, but I am not sure can just keep recruiting.

Perhaps Williams from the colts is a chance.

One of our issues is bringing the ball into the forward line so our players have a chance to make the most of the opportunities.
