Interesting although pleasing to see Sebit named at FF,bit of a big step for him.

I cannot see many big issues but with Perths recruiting the task is difficult if we use the same game plan as last year.

We need to attack at every opportunity and not go backwards like last year, take the chances! Also getting 30 kicks on a wing but turning most of the over is not good football might be in Victoria but not here, get 15 and have an efficiency rate of 75% rather than 30 & 10%!

I hear you Grump it sounds a lot like Swans.
We had the same amount of disposals as WP last week (283) but only 24 Inside 50s compared to their 38.
It is a mind numbingly dumb football style to watch and then expecting it to hit the scoreboard which will and always has been the way to win games!

The thank you button was needed here!

I will be criticised by some but we need to change that part of our game and drop the numpties that reckon kicks are the be al end all of the game!

Unfortunately Grump only top sides have control on what style of play they want to implement. The battlers just take what’s on offer, and generally that’s backwards sidewards until they turn it over.

That is true of teams and people who have a victim mentality and then it is the coach and leaderships responsibility to change that and we will have to see whether or not the hierarchy has or can do that!

I certainly think that in talking to the players I know that they are looking forward to the games and what they have to offer. To see player like Tom Gorter and AJ in the ressies is not good for them but just means they have to work harder to get in the ones abd that is often a motivator to change the mindset!

missed opportunity today but some very promising signs with 8 more inside fifties with our 44 entries so need to tidy that up and i don't think the Demons kid Mcdonald will be in the WAFL system next year.

when i saw the selected side i was a bit concerned especially the backline.barney mentioned after the game that he played form players but to have so many debutants was i think a mistake.i would hope that both gorter and hart get their rightful positions in the backline next week.also apart from eddie and jones the other three bigs were non existant.would rather bring back ajang.robertson will be back next week so hopefully we will be better.positives were that we didn't go backwards and sideways in defence and when we went sideways it was long ane slightly forward to a player in the clear.

As the song goes 2 outta 3 ain't bad,

I did not hang around for the colts but it seems that we had control for the duration, a good start for the boys.

The ressies did it well with some really pleasing stuff from Callum Hart and the Rock. I reckon that a few of the boys could press the league side of possies but that probably won't happen as we need to give players time to gel!

The league side cannot give a side 5 goals start and expect to win, the shortened quarters have shown that 70 odd percent of teams in from at 1/4 time win. Sadly I have to admit that the Worst got it right, Perth looked like a team who knew each other and played like it where as we looked disjointed, selfish and at time frustrated with each other. Having said that there were times when it clicked and I can only hope that it gets better with each game. I thought Jones,Kerr, Ramsay and Lynch all played well with Schumacher showing he will be a player for us! I reckon that Hayden will grow into league football and will be a good addition in an albeit shortish backline.

Umpires don't win or lose games but one of them on the field yesterday was a little under qualified to being a league football game, No3!

Some of the ball use from the mids was woeful, the poor forwards were on good leads, didn’t get honoured or missed them by 10 metres.
A few of the backs got monstered, Blee has to show some leadership down there he was thrown around like a rag doll on occasions
I agree about the shorter quarters Grump, EP were probably the better side after quarter time, roll on next week
