No offence but perhaps he is putting your club in the 'plain incompetent' group of clubs.

Hardly financially incompetent.
How many Clubs other than Perth have had one only very modest loss since 1999?

I seem to recall the magicians at Subi making a $350k loss with a turnover of $4.5m.
Be careful what you say. Perth turned over about $2m that year and still made a profit.

Peel had a salary cap breach around hidden payments to, I believe, Rory O'Brien, Perth was for unreported payments but not a cap breach, unfairly you were fined the same as Peel!! And we all know the Joondy office girl spilled her coffee on the books and they got in trouble for that. Swans were also fined for "irregularities" around the time that Krak was at the club, not sure if they had to pay or managed to get out of it.

DF at that rate the well will dry up pretty quickly especially since our turnover has dropped significantly since the end of the Subi oval lease/members seats deal 2 years ago. Maybe Subi's dominance, which apparently is due solely to money, wont last too much longer.

DF this is copy clipped from an article in the West around 2011/2012

Peel has been fined $10,000 by the WAFL after it was found guilty of a salary cap breach for the second time in less than a decade.

The Thunder were found to have broken the rules governing player payments regarding monies paid to former midfielder Rory O'Brien.

A WAFL investigation revealed Peel "had not correctly recorded the football payments made during the 2009 season as the club had failed to declare a relocation expenses payment that had been made to player Rory O'Brien without the appropriate receipts being provided".

However, even with the extra payment taken into account the Thunder were still under the salary cap for that year

WAFC director of football, Grant Dorrington, said the integrity of the WAFL competition is of paramount importance to the WAFC, which means that proper implementation of the entire salary cap system is essential for every club.

"The fine reflects the seriousness with which the WAFC views this breach and sends a strong message to every club that they need to adhere to the Salary Cap system for the benefit of the whole competition," Mr Dorrington said.

"We expect the management of Peel Thunder Football Club, and every other club, to set high standards in the way they implement and administer the Player Payments Declarations."

O'Brien has since been transferred to East Fremantle.

Perth were fined $20,000 reduced to $10,000 on appeal in 2009 after the commission found discrepancies in the contract of defender Chris Bossong.

Like the O'Brien matter, the Bossong breach came to light after the player attempted to shift to another club.

In 2008, an investigation found that Swan Districts had not breached the salary cap with payments to Andrew Krakouer that differed from the payment schedule supplied by the club.

Cash payments to Krakouer were revealed during his District Court assault trial but the WAFC found the discrepancy did not constitute a salary cap breach.

Peel and West Perth were fined last decade for salary cap breaches though both were considered honest mistakes.

The offence is the latest in a line of problems to hit the Thunder.

Just three years ago the club had to borrow $300,000 from the WAFC to stay afloat. It has paid back $50,000 of those funds.

Certainly wasn't the PFC cheating salary caps.
Responsible management precluded that.
Besides we didn't have any paper bags.

Never said you did cheat the salary cap as the article says it was mistakes in how you ran your books.

BC....you gotta love their persistence tho....pity these boys are so consumed with raising awareness about all things Subi and not putting their energies into more important univeral issues outside the little ole WAFL....

Fingers crossed the Subi naysayers take your advice mate and spend the summer in the gym, on the training track....finding ways to lift their game, gotta feeling they won't though...far too easy sitting on ones arse complaining about the injustice of it all....LOL

Absolutely, you would think they (and me) would have better things to bang on about.

I mean FMD poor little Trumpy Pumpy is about to get impeached, bungling Boris is continuing the great tradition of recent Prime Ministers and is making right royal balls up of Brexit, despite a range of considered views the Hong Kong matter is still awaiting resolution, the Australian selectors seemingly still have no idea who is going to open the batting in the upcoming test series, Subiaco desperately in need of support in the rucking department, China establishing bases all around the Asia/Pacific region and all this lot can go on about is poor little Subiaco winning the piddly little WAFL flag in a comp that no one cares about anymore.

Bigger fish to get excited about elsewhere.
