First of John Dimmer -- premiership player whom went off to EP -- captain -- and WP, rubbing our noses in it in 1995.
He played 90 games from memory only ten a season.

What happened on that score? Was he injured? Was he a victim of certain coaches? Was he prone to patchy form and hence reserve football??

cheers all

Johnny Dimmer was another casualty of Subiaco's level of debt at that time
His switch to another WANFL club East Perth almost certainly re-invigorated his career at the same time
rumour goes he might have initially had a talk with South too
A genuine old time half back but had some toe JD and from memory he even had spells on the ball for the Royals
He had an almost identical kicking style to ex-Claremont , East Perth & South Fremantle player John Hayes

Southerner: your right, it would have been a bit of fresh air to go and play for EP at the time. As I say, it may have been that he was injured in previous years, hence his relatively low game tally for the Lions.
I think only ken bell, phil lamb and the captain played 100 games for us in the years 1975 -1983 or so -- a ridiculously low figure. Schultz and Dimmer got close to that figure of games. As you know, Randall is a good comparison, in terms of games played, because he left at the same time and had managed 152 games.

would've been injuries to those players that prevented more games played
there were more players transferring or leaving
ironically it would be the discovery of Gary Buckenara in the amateurs in 1978 who would pretty much save the club by also transferring years later

that is true -- I think we would have survived thanks to the hard work done by the club and the football community in the late 1970s, but the Buckenara money made the difference.

It is funny how players are discoverred: Lord Gower was spotted by someone from Leicester playing in a village game apparently.

Definitely not trying to hijack Ark's always quality work but I note Subi only had 3 hundred gamers in 9 years there.

Here's one for you Ark - who was last PFC player to achieve automatic life membership with 150 games.

And the one before that?

Can you put your thinking cap on and tell whom played 100 games for the black and reds in the decade 1970-1980?

You are not as far as off as you think. Our last 150 gamer was willie Dick and before him was warren Nicholas. We have had s problem with longevity for decades unfortunately.

Ps I knew you wouldn’t cheat!!
