A good win by the boys. I thought it would be much closer given our outs of Heal, Newton, Kennedy, Powell, Wheeler to name a few but then that was offset to some extent by WCER losing Waterman, Petrocelli, Schofield and so on. Our backs were outstanding and they're so well organised week in week out. Having the likes of Lockyer, Litherland and Marsh down there really makes a difference. Dela was just Dela...comprehensively beaten in the ruck but had it over 30 times around the ground and was probably BOG for mine. Interesting that Rhys Waters played in the midfield and did reasonably well...so that gives us another string to our midfield bow. Horse, Kitch, Walters, Cleggett, T E-B, Soks, Borchet and Braut all very good. All in all a good team effort. A special mention to the 2 debutants in Stainsby and Atkinson who I thought acquitted themselves well. Young Stainsby is very hard at it and attacks the ball full on and is not afraid to run off his man which is fantastic for a 19 yo. All the blokes who've come through from last years ressies in Borchet, Cleggett, Braut, Fullgrabe, T E-B and Leach are all doing a terrific job and covering the loss of more experienced players superbly.

How would you rate this side against Subi's 2006 to 2009 team. I'd say we were a stronger team back then but sadly all teams seem to be sadly depleted compared to the previous decade.

oobi...I'd say the team of 2015 is the best Subi squad I've seen in the last 20 years. Having blokes like Menegola, Boland, Yarran all in the same side was an absolute pleasure to watch. Last year's was pretty good too but I think I'd lean towards 2015.

Yeh the 19 team is very strong with depth, but the other clubs have definitely fallen away

BC agree a very good and even team performance but lets face it, WCER were abysmal. lets hope for Weagles fans that they dont get too many injuries as their cupboard is pretty bare. Not only a lack of talent but a lack of pressure and committment which allowed us to do pretty much as we wanted.

really impressed with the local youngsters coming through, Braut is a monster, 188 and 90, he looks like cementing a half back spot even when Heal comes back. great to See Joycey back, he looks good today and will be better for the run. Dela did what dela does, got smashed by the WCER monsters in the hitouts then completely towelled them up around the ground, another 5 vote game I think. Sok looked good and his goal kicking is improving under the great mans guidance. haven't done the exercise but it would be interesting to see how many of todays team have played 20 games or less, Braut, Matera, Leach, Cleggett, Fullgrabe, E-B, Atkinson, Stainsbury and maybe Borchet, great for the future given our senior players are starting to get on a bit. Only gap in the team is a true knock ruckman but thats not hurting us at the moment, the only bigman that gives us trouble in hitouts and around the ground is Higgins.

Some comments on here about the Drovers dog could coach us, yes always great to take over a talented disciplined squad that Schoey put together, so Wardman is on a hiding to nothing. But given the injury list ( yes all teams get that from time to time) and losing Clarke and Phelan from last year, both in the top 10 of the comp, then losing Deluca mid season when he was up with the leaders in most media awards means he has done a pretty good job to ensure the same levels of committment and discipline especially with the young blokes who have had some good opportunities to show what they have. Obviously numpties like STT with his pathalogical hatred of Subi will never give any credit.

looking forward to next thursdays game v the D's at Hungry Jacks stadium, lets hope they give a better showing than the embarrassing effort in the wet last time.

BC -- me thinks your right. The side with boland in would of beaten the first PA side we lost to when yarren played against us. The strong Claremont side of the late 1980s, would still be the best post-Eagles side.

For me, the 2008 side was the best, went through with only 1 very doubtful loss and cruised through the finals. had every area and line covered plus we had a few hard men with some mongrel like Read to make sure the opposition new we were coming.

Agree SS. The current crop probably could coach themselves because that was the culture Schoey instilled when he took over. You can see guys like Horse, Kitch, Lockyer, Dela, Greg Clark directing traffic and everyone is accountable. If you don't buy into that culture you won't last long that's for sure.

SS, I'm glad you're looking forward to Thursday's game because I'm certainly not. Perth can't win. It's that stark: there is no conceivable way we can conjure a win. What we need to do is this: firstly, if any players have niggles, rest them. No point risking key players for a pointless game. Next we need to play exceptionally defensively. The best we can hope for from this game is to avoid losing too much percentage. If we can come away with a loss under 8 goals, I think we can be pretty happy.
