Or in the early 80's either. As a supporter who went thru the late 70's and early 80's I make no apologies for us having a so called period of dominance and if you don't like it .. Stiff!

Did the other clubs support Subiaco in a pre-Eagles era? And the point is that times are different then to now.

Premiers/Runners-up:

1977 Perth/East Perth;
1978 East Perth/Perth;
1979 East Fremantle/South Fremantle
1980 South Fremantle/Swan Districts;
1981 Claremont/South Fremantle;
1982,3,4 Swan Districts/Claremont,Claremont,East Fremantle,
1985 East Fremantle/Subiaco;
1986 Subiaco/East Fremantle

Compare and contrast with
2008 Subiaco/Swan Distrcts
2009 South Fremantle/Subiaco;
2010 Swan Districts/Claremont;
2011 Claremont/Subiaco;
2012 Claremont/East Fremantle;
2013 West Perth/East Perth;
2014 Subiaco/East Perth;
2015 Subiaco/West Perth;
2016 Peel/Subiaco;
2017 Peel/Subiaco

Also, premiers 2004, 2006 and 2007 Subiaco and runner-up in 2003.

Freezin wrote: 42 you pass comment on the fact Subi fans should ABSOLUTELY have no complaints about the umpiring yesterday...yet SD got nearly more than twice the number of frees....if the numbers had been of reversed you would of mentioned the discrepancy......you pass comment on the fact that Subi are destroying the comp by having a plethora of riches that other WAFL clubs don't have....yet you say little about SD themselves not helping the destruction of the comp by scoring only ONE goal in 3/4 quarters of footy....hardly the sort of display to bring in the punters hey mate?

Spot on Freeze, you and I know as freo club supporters that the moment the dockers came in what ever was left of wafl was utterly farked, what cracks me up is cretins from clubs like sdfc that claim to have a passion for wafl yet at the same time cheer on the dockers, complete numpties that dont know that their entry into the Afl killed lf wafl for good, then theres the total embarrasment that is the subiaco deal and financial imbalance, its a statewide joke, but who can blame Subi for not taking advantage of it , nothing was done for years to correct it. Well done subi , its just a pity they are winning flags when they mean sfa , the comp was over decades ago.
As for umpiring and sdfc, ffs, what a load of utter tripe, biggest case of case of paranoia out.

I merely state last week I read SD apparently beat a similar level side to Subi in Peel on pure passion for the SD jumper....yet you don't mention the passionless display by SD yesterday, it was down to inequality of WAFL resources? ......true Peel and Subi have monetary/facility/playing superiority over the rest of the WAFL(bar EP)....but I truly get confused when passion is mentioned coming to the fore in victory over one, yet blame unfairness and inequality when you lose to the over.?.....you say I am stirring as usual, I think I am just highlighting the inconsistencies with your argument......as I did when the Subi boys aired their frustrations after losing to Peel in the GF last year.....

as for what I will do when the WAFL is no more?.....well TBH in my eyes the WAFL went on life support when WCE joined the VFL in 87 and then the WAFL life support was turned off when Freo joined the AFL in 95.....whatever we have now and had since 1995 is a shadow of what I define as the WAFL through my time watching the comp through the 70's and 80's......when Freo were formed in 1995 and EF won the flag in 94....I saw the writing on the wall and headed overseas for an adventure and have sporadically been back to watch the WAFL since....when I have, the quality of football is average at best compared to my previous experiences ..unlike you the WAFL appears to be your winter existence...... TBH I worry for your state of mind when the WAFL is no more than my own.....but hey life goes on.

42....what is wrong with hearing an alternative opinion....anyway did u give one iota that Subi had won only one GF for nearly 60 odd years...I certainly didn't give it one thought...as many other opposition fans presumably.....EF were doing well during that time as well EP Perth SD etc....from memory.....blame the AFL for not giving a toss....Subi are just playing footy like the rest of the clubs...just doing it a bit better than the rest....same as SD did in the 60s and 80s ..Perth and EP in the 60s and 70s....SF in the 50s......EF in the 40s/90s.....Cl in the 80s/90s..... etc

Freezin, I must of missed something...I cant remeber Effc having 2 million in the bank and a massive financial advantage over the other clubs in the 70s, nor can I recall sffc or sdfc or anyother club, all the clubs had the same set up, what I do recall is subi being utterly fucked and other clubs bailing them out, Ive no idea why they were so rooted but it was certainly to do with their own incompetent management and nothing to do with other clubs copping 90k a year in extra revenue they didnt cop.

Perth has a million in the bank...does that mean Subi has $98 million hidden somewhere as last time I looked they had about $2.4m or conversely does it mean the other clubs only have $2.40?

Whats your reference for Perths 1 million in the bank?

And even if they did, as you quote can you name another wafl club with 2.4 million in the bank?

Peel
EP
the mighty fighting Demons
the Lions

all of money.

Sometimes it does come down to how youu spend what you have in the bank. Back when Subi went on a recruitment splurge when the second alignment, one of the chaps we targetted, naturally was Big Frank from WP. Perth, apparently, from what I could glean from other posters on here, also pursued the big fellow. In the end, the Redlegs decided not to pay WP's asing price for him.
