Bradley did play better against the Munchers and I can see why he's getting a gig, to add some height which we drastically lack. It's our defence and experienced mids that are really doing the job. The whole forward line is yet to click, it's been cameos from 1 or 2 that have been the contributors, on Saturday it was Shaq & Sokol who could have kicked 6 if he was on target, prior to that it's been young Clarke and Halligan .... who's the other in if he's fit. It should be a really solid forward line with Shepheard, Sokol, Halligan & Shaq. I would be moving Shepheard out to CHF to give him more space, he's super mobile and can kick 50+m, then a 3 way change using Dela, Clang & Bradley through the ruck, FF & bench. That setup with the backing of some goals from the mids should provide enough scoring power. I noticed that Schoey was resting a couple of the mids on the HFF late in the game which does add to the equation and real quality players that the opposition has to find a matchup for.

The sooner we get big Madut back the better for mine as at least he can halve the ruck contest and maybe give us first use on occasions...he also started to show a bit around the ground before he got injured. that way it releases clanger and dela to play forward for big chunks of time. i'm not sure how far away Madut and Stevo are atm but if and when we get both back plus Halligan and Rhys Waters, the forward line will be bloody scary....throw Broughto down back as an attacking defender and ball carrier through the transition to complement twomey and I think we're going to be ok. the big issue is getting most if not all on the park at the same time.

We always disagree on this one BC but I still think Madut is at least a couple of years away from being a consistently good league footballer. When that time arrives he will have the ability to dominate games, same with Bestry. Our premiership winning combo works & works well, we just won by almost 10 goals in joondy, that is pretty remarkable in itself. The two boys are just so damaging around the ground & I recon its better for Dela injury wise to keep moving for as much of the match as possible rather than being stagnant in set position for long periods. Our forward line is loaded, with the boys you mentioned to come back in, plus Ryan will also be pushing hard. Stinga told me he looks ok. Joyce is another. If we do get them on the park at the same time the selectors are going to have a lot of headaches

yeah...i don't disagree with what you're saying DG but I also think Madut has come on in leaps and bounds (literally and metaphorically) over the last year or two and is now pretty competitive at the restarts and stoppages. he also does a lot more around the ground and is taking a few marks. I think Dela and Clanger in the ruck do ok but I'm of the view they could give us more by playing up forward and taking turns in the ruck to give Madut a spell. Matching up on Shepherd, Clanger and Dela in the front half would be vey hard for any opposition team.

I guess it's all supposition until Madut returns which looks like it could be quite a while given he's still in a knee brace.

Back to the topic and I reckon this week could go down to the wire. In recent times Perth have given us plenty of cheek regardless of ladder positions and recall Ross Young dragging them over the line a couple of times even though we were on top and they were down the bottom. Their mids are quality and think they'll break even with ours but also of the view our rock solid defence will be the difference.

I hope it does BC. It was a real character win over the fancied Tigers last week. You will notice some bigger bodies than what you are accustomed to from recent Perth sides and we've got a bit more midfield grunt this year and a couple of tall targets up front. Zucconi coming back has been a blessing and is a real leader down back.

If the boys apply themselves like they did after qtr time last week we should be competitive however I think your class might get you over the line. Looking forward to it.

cheers DD. I think I can say on behalf of every true WAFL supporter that we all hope Perth has turned the corner. If you win I'll be pissed off for obvious reasons but if you lose big time I'll be even more pissed off and very surprised.

Yep spot on BC, the comp desperately needs a competitive Perth, not just notching up 6 or 7 wins but hopefully playing finals footy. We know we are coming from a long way back but I like what Earl is doing.

Good line up with just 4 or 5 possibles still out including Halligan, Waters, Madut, Stevo & Moore, great to see Broughts come in, I'm guessing they are taking no chances with Halligan and keen to see a bit more of Shaq. Hoping to see Max Walters get a run but the names on the bench are pretty strong. Ryan is a little stiff after last weeks game in the 2's but he would need to string a few like that together to have any chance of breaking in. Perth have a really strong midfield, if Mahoney can shadow Trop like he did to Black last week and cut his effectiveness, someone may need to shadow McKenna who is in super form, we can cut there ball supply significantly, then again they have to worry about our mids who as a group are the best in the comp (well until we see how we go against the Bullies mids) looking forward to this one on Sunday.

For the competition & PFC’s sake, I hope I’m wrong, but looking at the two sides I think PFC might cop a pounding in this one…

Waters was always ear marked to comeback this week, Madut should hopefully not be to far away as when he did the injury he said about 6 to 8 weeks unless he has had a set back and Halligan should be good to go next week, thought the extra week would do him good.
