I enjoy getting out of the house on Saturdays to go and watch WAFL footy, I always go into the oppo bar for a squash at some stage during the day for a chat to the oppo supporters and enjoy talking to the oppo supporters that come up to Basso for a feed, drink or just a chat.
was great talking to the great Bill Dempsey the other week who always comes upstairs at Basso and chats to people.
those who who so narrow minded not to realise that one of the great things about WAFL footy is the great diversity amongst supporters of all clubs then that is their loss.
you seem very narrow minded but that is to be expected from people who see themselves as above others.

I'll be there DW always park myself on the outer wing not too far from the can bar.
Outer is back digging up dirt.

Good stuff Senior....hope you enjoy the hot chips....I always go for the chips n gravy myself....worth the extra $1 and a substantial snack in comparison to the $5 chip served up at the showgrounds last week....I won't even get started on the hot dog which lasted all of one bite before deservedly landing in the trashcan. Hope you enjoy your day out at Basso mate although not too much, we need the win more than you guys.

DW - since you live in City Beach you could at least afford to eat in Claremont Quarter before you got to the footy ? :)

MO didnt head to the Qtr as was making sure I didn't have to pay admission by getting down to the ground before quarter time of the colts as per our season membership card permits...did get charged $3 for my budget, did note that if I left the showgrounds would have to pay $5 for the second time in the day to re park my vehicle and was told in no uncertain terms that there were no pass outs in regards to re admitting the arena by a gate attendant who seemed less than impressed that I was entitled to free admission at 8.45am in the morning..so I watched all 3 games from start to finish which to me is a good day out at the best of times. What I've always loved about the Tiges is how bloody unwelcome they make opposition supporters feel about venturing in to their territory, both at Claremont Oval and the Showgrounds. I'm sure after we leave the support staff they have go and urinate in various locations around their ground just to reclaim their boundaries aka the territorial pissings of feral cats. And being that this is a Subi thread I will conclude by saying I always feel welcome at Subi home games to go in and enjoy a half time frothie and get out of the bloody freezing cold stands at Leederville. Food is generally of good quality outta the caravan there too. Credit where it is due :P

DW...the food from the stall between the Subi members bar and the main stand is much better than the caravan at ground level behind the stand. You can get a substantial burger, large portion of chips and a water for $13. There's also a boutique coffee stand next to it so you've got all bases covered...food, coffee and grog at the bar all within 20 feet of each other.

Cheers BC....will utilise these facilities next time although doubt I'll ever sit in the stand at Leederville again. Near on lost my gonads last time at the venue to frostbite.

I must admit it does get a bit coolish in the stand on occasions...mind you, I tend to sit in front of the coaches box and some of the language coming from Schowey when one of the players does something wrong tends to heat things up a bit. i'd hate to be on the receiving end of his better sprays that's for sure.

Yeah it is a bit chilly, used to sit opposite in the outer but you end up looking into the sun and you cant see the useless bloody postage stamp scoreboard!! Stand is good, don't have to cart in folding chairs and as BC says the food and drink is near at hand.

We see a few more opposition supporters in the club these days given most will not hand their hard earned over the East eagles bar ... if it's actually ever open, whereas the Subi bar is open for all Wart home games.

yep...bumped into a mate as I was walking into the ground against Souths last week. He's a Souths supporter and sponsor, and wasn't aware he could get into the Subi bar for a beer. I deposited both himself and his mate in the bar at a table near the front windows...happy as a pig in chit...until the second half of the game that is.
