only too pleased to help MO...you get the cash, we get quality players and a flag. imo Twomey wasn't far behind Horsley last year as our most important player. hopefully Robinson will add some grunt in the midfield to help out Horse, Mahoney, Kitchin, Menagola, Phelan, Deluca et al.

Tho with the injury to Stockley you may have strengthened the wrong area.

let's wait until it's confirmed before we jump to that conclusion..Leedy does seem to have his finger on the pulse so if I was a betting man I'd say it's probably correct but at this point I haven't seen or heard anything about it.

Again for the chance of being crucified ! BC, I can tell you that my source is very accurate, there is a meniscus tear and some damage to the ACL, the club I am told are going down the line of surgery.

Yes DG Bestry is still around. So is big Madut. We also have Delahunty, Wheeler, Creeper from the colts and few other talls. I have noticed that Madut has been training in the league squad.

I pointed out our lack of strength in the ruck -- even with Stockely -- weeks ago so we will have problems this season. Just a gripe about football culture; 'talls' which is a silly term at the best of times, are not ruckman, they are key position players. Ruck work is an art form in itself; sure, we may be able to use players, such as Wheeler, in bursts; but we will be vulnerable in key positions -- in a way that we were not last season -- and it will most likely show in results.

The club should have replaced McDougall pure and simple.

Perhaps lack of money prevented Subi finding a replacement for MacDougall Ark?

Freeze: I am almost getting miffed about it; I mean, there is no point having a few quid if you throw it at the wrong players at the wrong time. In all seriousness, in my state of general semi miffness, I was having a think about it, that is, Subiaco ruckmen. I nutted that the last home-grown ruckman was Matt Burton, datting back to 1990 or so; the rest, I believe, have been importted. These include the following players:

Shane Cocker
Graham Jones
Dean Irving
Andrew McDougall
Michael Rix

to name a few. Are there any home-grown ruckmen of note whom I have missed? Have I missed an import or two?

Given the relative dearth of proven home-grown ruck talent at the club over the years, coupled with the retirement of McDougall, and even before Stockley went down, you would have thought that it would have occurred to someone that the recruitment of a ruckman was the order of the day.
