I saw that Madut play last year and he averages 9 posssies and just over 1 mark a game, he's raw but needs to learn to position around the ground before he could be considered a league prospect, let alone a star of the future.

Well, I saw him every week and think he can make an impact pretty quickly.

not sure how he is going to go from 16 marks in 8 colts games and 0 in 1 reserves game to making an impact quickly in league but good luck to him...good ruck coach at Subi will be important for the young fella.

He won't lose many taps that's for sure.

It's rare that all of us who watch colts each week in the outer agree on the potential of a player. Normally there is one dissenter or a doubter - sometimes that's me but in the case of Madut all of us agree, even hard nosed old timers like Murray Brennan and Ted Wishart. It's just a case of immediately or later in the year. Sadly, we might not have him after this season anyway from the interest he is receiving from some scouts.

he certainly had plenty of interest due to his athletic capabilities, like Daw from North it will come down to being able to read the play and take marks around the ground..
Gumby from South is a good example, took him years to learn the game but is a top state league player, Madut will take at least a few years to read the play..

To be honest, I don't think it will matter anyway.

I'm pretty sure the selectors will go with experience in Sinclair (If the Eagles are telling us to play him ruck) plus Wheeler and McDougall.

They won't have recruited McDougall to play ressies I guess. I don't agree with that recruiting choice but it's been made. Hope it works out well.

I've been trying to put together a team but I think I'll wait until after a few preseason games, too many new names I haven't seen much of yet. We are in for a very interesting year with the youngsters sure to dominate

Yep all our teams are a bit hit and miss at this early stage - I'm just having a wild crack and putting in a few young fellas who I would like to see being given a go.
I agree in regard to the recruits - they may not be quality but from all reports each club is looking for the same sort of players and when your up against all the other teams sometimes something is better than nothing?

In regard to 4 quality recruits - has any team jagged that this year ???

I would imagine that the Subi guy's would have tried to get all the players looking for a gig in the WAFL (Seaby included) but if I was Seaby I don't blame him going to a club like the Tiggers. With only a few years left in him one would think he'll get more finals footy there than the Falcons or Subi???
