Im sure I had Subi & Swans in my bottom 2, Im embarrassed to say.
I knew that would come back to haunt me.
Its only early season but both club have been terrific.
Should be a ripper game. How do you pick a winner ?
Ill tip Twomey needing a goal after the siren
to win the game. He will hit the post resulting in a draw.

Swooper and Twomey getting into each other will be amusing during the game.

That matchup alone will be worth the price of admission.

It sure will be.

And the media are onto it.

Do you Swans blokes know what reps you have in the 18's academy? Will be the key in the colts to see how many are missing because of 18's academy duties this week. Even duel at full strength I'd say.

Not sure if it has changed in the meantime LH but I remember reading in March we had C.Blakely, Anderson (both playing League), Nelson & Firns in the initial 18's squad. Our current Colts team has some very exciting talent much like we had in 07/08/09!

Yes, it is very exciting for Swans this year. I've been keeping a close an eye on their progress. 9 Indigenous players used so far. You blokes do a good job getting those fellas involved.

I wonder if they've added Jason Daniels since the initial intake. He is a good player that kid. I know the big fella Justin Shand is highly thought of and was on the radar also. Nelson Ansey is a good goal kicker. I'd have him in the academy if I was a selector - at least in the extended squad for now.

For some reason this kind of information just isn't being updated on the WAFC/WAFL website these days.

Either way will be a very good game.

Hope I am wrong but if you compare the two teams records so far this year, Subiaco should win this game comfortably. The Lions are cruising along and have thrashed most of the teams that they have played. They have heaps of depth as proven by their reserves being on top of the ladder.

Swans on the other hand have been gutsy and have fought out their games bravely, winning their last three by 9, 1 and 7 points. Their victories have been achieved in the face of some pretty wasteful footy by the opposition. e.g South Fremantle dominate a quarter and score 1-7. Swans have been able to get away with one poor quarter in all these games to eventually prevail. If they don't play 4 quarters of footy on Saturday, Subiaco will belt them.

Swans have also been lucky so far with the fact they have been able to select pretty much the same team all season. I wonder how our depth will be if we start getting injuries which is inevitable really as the season goes on.

One thing that Swans could think about is to try and hit a team coming off a bye early in the game as they did against Perth ( 5 goals in the first ten minutes was crucial in the ultimate outcome)

Harding has done a fantastic job in bringing this team together to be playing with so much commitment and spirit and this will bring them more victories this year. I just think Subi may be playing a little too well at the moment.
