think it would be wise to provide this post at the end of the home & away LH....not saying what you are saying isn't spot on or not true, just it is really only early days yet.....a lot can happen, but to me SD have lost more first team players than Subi and had little financial assistance availability to replace the experience/quality lost.

But both teams have been the standouts so far, both playing excellent team orientated footy, I guess that can ebb and flow over the year......WP won a flag on that last year, yet this year are struggling.....doesn't mean they can't find their mojo again.....just makes for a great tight comp, especially for spots 2 - 7.....lots to play for, but as MO said, some of those Subi losses have been replaced from outside and to a lesser extent from within.....SD are all within replacements, which is why if one of these two teams is likely to stumble it will be SD.....not saying it will be SD....just reckon depth wise Subi have more in the bank than SD at present for an influx of injuries depth wise.

Swans have been outstanding this year given what they have had to deal with via their self inflicted financial state. All done from within, they seem to have that siege mentality using all the negative commentary to meld a solid team together playing great team footy with a nothing to lose, nothing to prove attitude.

Subi have brought on a number of quality locals and the 20 - 50 gamers are really stepping up, but the club was not prepared to sit and watch their co-tenants take over the comp so spent big and for the first time since the 2004 - 2008 era have managed to get quality recruits that are the cream on cake with the local boys. While the ferals have not dominated so far as all thought, they just need to make the finals and it's a whole new ball game, especially with their AFL masters struggling a bit and looking like missing the finals or at best finishing 6th-8th with an early exit likely, leaving plenty of AFL listed boys to bolster their quality local guys like Johnson, Wolf, Smith etc.

Saturdays game against the Ducks should be a ripper with both clubs playing quality hard running team footy. Looking forward to seeing how Twomey and to a lesser extent Hildo (he's really a Subi man) handle the inevitable physical attack that the Ducks will apply. Ames is the best FB in the WAFL and his battle with an in form Boland will be one to watch. Perhaps the older bigger harder bodies at Subi will be the difference but it will go down to the wire and is what the WAFL is all about. Subi to win by a dubious point on the final siren!!

SG,

If they even get 75% of the maggots assistance as they did v WP, they are going to be hard to topple!

The thing is last year and the year before we had the same number of recruits but I guess opposition supporters only notice that when you start winning?

exactly - Subi should make the finals every year.
only bad recruits or thre wrong coach would impact on their ladder position.

I'd agree with that totally up until the points system came in. It has worked well.
