I thought it was probably time to move on from last year given it was pretty ordinary in terms of results but if history is anything to go by then we should win the flag in 2023.

I can't see that happening, but it also reflects the inconsistency which has crept into our performances since Wardman took over from Schoey with a flag in his first year, then missed the finals, another flag last year and also ran's in 2022.

The coaching and playing group really need to address that fact and we also need to get back to the fitness standards of years gone by as I'm thinking we're well and truly back to the pack in that regard.

A couple of handy returns in Hayden and Schofield plus Morris and Clarke should both be in the first 22 you'd think but we've lost some quality as well in Dela, Harris, Marsh, Atkinson to mention a few.

I can't see us getting anywhere near the top 5 but we all live in hope I guess.

Agree BC. Also Matera gone, although he didn’t exactly set the world on fire, he did demand a top opposition defender to mark him

Looking thru our list now we don’t appear to have the class of previous times. Clarke, Hayden and Schofield will add to our midfield and hopefully Jack Mayo comes back strongly( and Jordan Lockyer later in the year) ,but we don’t seem to have the depth of the past. Hopefully some of the players blooded over the past year or so can lift to the next level. Still live in hope too BC as we did win the premiership in 2021 but that seems a long time ago at the moment!

It looks like our list for next season is pretty much set in stone now and I have to say, I think we'll really struggle and be anchored in the bottom half of the league. We're still lacking a big key forward, we have an aging backline with no Lockyer for most of the season and a midfield which is short on quality compared to our golden years. The upside is that we have some very good colts and ressies coming through but I can't see them having any impact for a year or two.

You'd think 2023 will be Warden's last if we don't stay competitive opening the door for someone like Horse to take over as senior coach. He doesn't seem to have a high profile at WCE but I'm sure is learning all the time.

The coming season should give a clear indication of where we sit as a club in the total scheme of things so let's hope it's a positive but I'm not confident that's for sure.

I am hopeful rather than confident about our prospects for next season. Jack Mayo could be that big forward if his body can stand up. Note to club Keep him away from any rucking duties! Schofield and Hayden are two good young players and the last time we had Zac Clarke we went thru undefeated! Hopefully Berenger is that tall backman we missed last year when Jordan Lockyer went down. I like Lachlan Henderson and he will get better the stronger he gets. Hopefully too some of last years colts can transition to league this year and provide a bit of pace and enthusiasm in the side. Glass half full at the moment !!

Like all other clubs, it's about keeping your best 22 consistently out on the paddock. If we can do that we can be competetive for a finals spot, but the flag will go to either EF, Joondy or Cl.

Thought west perth were a bit lucky to win this year. Claremont and  east freo in gf next year.

Think Subi will have a good run sometime next season. Reserves premiership a good sign. Colts were unlucky not to make gf. Covid hurt last year.

On another note...did anyone go to the AGM and how did we finish up financially this year?

BC , made a loss of around $244,000 with a lot of the blame placed on Covid , obviously unable to hold functions and afl packages affected but a little concerning.
See in todays West we are one of a number of clubs attempting to woo Marty Fredericks twin brother of the dockers Michael. Would indicate that still looking for recruits.
