Hahaha...SS...Gary Father's kicking style reminded me of Ivan Glucina from Souths who threw it in the air before taking a wild swing with his foot. Looking at WAFL footy facts, Ivan the Terrible played 90 odd games and kicked 32 goals and 30 behinds. I'm surprised he kicked any with that action.  

Big Ivan was a giant of a man with the biggest hands I've ever seen, but yes I think Gary must have been a fan and modelled his kicking style on big Ivans.

Yes Fathers, like Munro knew how to take a grab but couldn't kick for shit. Both good value though. What about 78 though and grumpy Mick Malone stepping up to take over from Fathers who was unexpectedly a big loss. Malone another who couldn't kick fs and could have got close to a ton that year 55.47!

Did someone mention Jack Anthony?

As a kid, fathers and Munro were subi's main source of goals. Both fought like mad, but couldn't kick, as has been noted. One worked on building sites, I seen to recall. 

I was definitely standing behind the goals at the city end when Malone got that big bag.

Golding on an extended bench, but also named for reserves? Oscar Matthews replaces Putt, also on extended bench but named in reserves. Robbins on that bench but not on reserves list. A few others lucky to retain their spots?

Yes interesting to see who makes the cut. Putt and Faraone in the ressies but looks like both Hickmott's survived. Great to see Jack Mayo named in the two's...hopefully he plays and gets through ok.

It's normally a given that if they are also named in the ressies they wont play league. Maybe they want to see how the weather pans out, plenty of rain forecast for today but should clear by midday tomorrow, so should be played in fine weather but I expect the surface will be boggy and shifty. The Perth boys might find it hard after playing and training on their bowling rink surface, whereas our lot might be stuffed after slogging it out training on the WCE mudflats. Definitely a day for the long stops!!

I notice Jack Beverly is still missing so not sure what is going on there as he's an important run-with player. It'll also be interesting when Borchet comes back on how they structure up as I'm not sure we can go with Sokol, Martin, Borchet and Braut all up forward.

Great to see Mayo named in the reserves as well. Touch wood the kid to get up n running for you guys come finals time.....that's if you make it of course!
