I can't recall saying that MO but as SS said the comp is alot stronger this year and should be much stronger again next season with the expected influx of quality players

Subi's list if all fit is still very good but aging, so maybe 1 more year at or near the previous levels and that will probably be it for a while, the recruiting ban will really start to bite once Horse, Dela, Kitch, Litherland and maybe Lockyer hang up the boots, probably at the end of next season or '22.

Haven't assumed anything other than he was on a 1/4 of the pay of Schoey. I stand by my other comments. Everyone else chimed in that he's not really the coach ...

It's not an unusual structure in world sport tuggers...in soccer they call them Managers and not coaches because that's what they do...manage players.

Highly unusual for WAFL, especially given its supposed to be a development pathway.

Who said it's a development pathway? Certainly the case for Colts but not league. My club plays to win not just to develop players for the insatiable AFL monster. I would have thought all WAFL league clubs turn up each week hoping to win, wouldn't you?

If the rumours are true the CEOs are now longer singing the same tune anyway. Seems some have dropped off now they realise they can longer divert money to the p and l or hire the latest recruit as a development manager or colts coach.

It depends a bit especially in relation to Subi: Wardman had coached the colts side to the flag, just our second, so it was a bit a fluke. How many games do you think Ross Smith, Parkin and Dougue coached between them before being given the job? How many games do you reckon Magee had coached at SD, or even, Hassa Mann at South, in the same era?

Comparred to all those, Wardman is actually well credentialled.

What other WAFL club would offer him a job if he was available as a league coach??

tugger: yes and no; the PFC appointed Mcmahon; but, remember my previous post? That it was partly about money. He goes at the end of next season if the slide continues, from my point of view.
