Our fate is in our own hands this week...win and we play finals, win by more than 22 points we finish up third, lose and we have to rely on others. I heard on Saturday Harry Marsh is a chance to return and hopefully Borchet pulled up ok after kicking 6 in the ressies. We can't be as inept as we were for 3 qtrs against EF as the jerkers will get a sniff and we all know what they're like when on a roll. Switch on from the first bounce and we'll be hard to beat...lose concentration and discipline and it'll be all over she wrote. Subi by 10 points.

Agree BC we are good enough if their heads are in the right space. Last week was all about attitude and focus, something totally lacking for 3 qtrs but when they switched it on they were back near their best and that's what will be needed for 4 qtrs against a very good disciplined and well coached Joondy outfit. Look back to when EF had them on toast at 3/4 time, WP obviously not at their best but EF gave them a sniff and that was all she wrote.

we should really win this: to be honest, neither PFC or us deserve to be in the finals if we don't this week.

You'd think the 4 on the bench would have to be Horse, Borchet, Newton & W. Hickmont, go with the extra mid as Joondy have probably the 2nd best midfield in the comp after SF and a couple of good tall forwards, so we need to at least break even in the mids and hope our defence can get on top. I like the idea of Atkinson on Keitel, Keitel is a very good player but can be a bit of a sook if things dont go his way, so get on top early with some well targeted physical pressure and he might throw the toys outa the cot. Give Joondy any sort of a start and they will be hard to catch, they are great frontrunners, so pressure pressure pressure all day especially on Black & Nelson. if we can move the footy like we did in the last qtr last week we are a very good chance, if it's like the first 3 qtrs last week then it curtains and we rely on a possibly unmotivated SF to beat Perth.

Of those named on the interchange obviously Horse and Benny Newton are locks. For the other two I'd go a for a spare forward from Borchet or Breman and a spare back being either Reid or Miller just to give some coverage and options if we're getting towelled up at either end. Do you take a risk with Borchet in such an important game after one half of footy all year or stick with the emerging Breman? Breman for mine with Borchet an extra week in the ressies then straight into seniors if we make it through to the finals. I'd also probably go with Miller down back as he's a great kick and reader of the play.

Gee some creative position selections there, a real rib tickler.
I’d prefer Atkinson as a bustling CHF, he worries me in defence. I’d have Borchet ahead of Breman at the moment, and both of them ahead of Matera. I’m not convinced about Reid’s ability at this level either. It’s getting close though. Horsley said on 91.3 that Marsh was ready and Lockyer was close

That's big news re Lockyer Frothy....he'd be handy if we make finals that's for sure. IMO he's our most important player alongside Horse, Dela and Gus. If Marsh is ready I wonder why he wasn't named?

Well ....go figure...the team I posted earlier from Subi's website has been taken down and this team has been posted on the WAFL website. I wonder if the team on Subi's site is the real one and was put up by mistake? Here's from the WAFL site. Interesting Kennedy is an out but Marsh is an in. You'd think when they actually line up Braut and Atkinson will swap positions and Powell, Borchet or Breman, Liam Hickmott and Nick Martin will be in the 22 as well. Our front half is really starting to look strong as players like Marsh and Borchet come back to complement the young blokes who have done the job so far.

FF 33 Bailey MATERA 18 Ben SOKOL 7 Harrison MARSH
HF 4 Rhys WATERS 25 Michael BRAUT 15 Jack BEVERLEY
C 9 Max WALTERS 11 Benjamin NEWTON 35 Drew ROHDE
HB 16 Jacob MILLER 36 Aaron HEAL 12 Gregory CLARK
FB 8 Angus LITHERLAND 20 Jakob ATKINSON 2 Kyle STAINSBY
