A good hit out with a final score of 10.15 to EP 5.4 or thereabouts. I thought young Atkinson was very good along with our rock solid defence. A couple missing in Borchet, Upton but pretty much a full squad. Braut hurt himself in the second and didn't play after half time with what looked like a knee strain and Dela ran laps around the outer for the entire final term but looked ok so not sure what was happening there. Ben Newton only played the second half but made an immediate impact. Most impressed with the players condition as they look in terrific shape and our tackling pressure on EP was outstanding. Some very good passages in transition from the backline but the finishing was a bit rusty with Rhys Waters the main culprit. All in all a good effort considering the length of the break. That gutless prick Cahill should get a nice holiday for a high hit on Benny Newton but otherwise it was played in the right spirit.

Good summary there BC, Upton played in the ressies and did some nice things out of the centre square in the last quarter.

Thanks mate. I got to the ground about half way through the last quarter of the ressies but didn't notice Upton without a team list. The tats should have been a dad giveaway but he's not the only one to have a sleeve.

Thanks BC, didn't get down in the end, but what a glorious day for footy, sounds like a rusty performance with that scoreline. Good hear the boys have been dedicated with their prep by the sounds of it.

Yes BC high and late, wasn't necessary, he will definitely get a holiday but luckily Newton came back on shortly after getting his jaw checked

Not sure if this was even an official scratch match...no goal umpires or boundary umpires... but there were field umps.....so I dont know if the report would stand... who was # 2 and 5 for subi?

Good point oobi...it must have been sanctioned by the WAFC for it to go ahead for insurance purposes if nothing else. The field umps were the real deal so you'd think they'd have the ability to report otherwise it could turn very ugly.

Sadly for us and most of the rest of teams the gap doesn't seem to have narrowed, well done! oh and gutless isn't something I would say abt Jaxon, he gives as good as he gets but we all see it a bit skewed!

Yes we do Grump...I saw one bloke playing the ball and another taking a cheap shot which could have resulted in serious injury. As DG said, back in the 80's it would have been play on but I can guarantee Cahill would have been eating his next steak through a straw.
