gtr D Trump is NOT a world leader; he is a wannabe world leader.

For those who have completely misconstrued my initial comment let me clarify the position. WHEN, and not if, Scotland leaves the UK it would seem to me that the UK flag it would be somewhat anomalous to keep the St David's Cross in the flag when Scotland is no longer part of the UK. By extension, it would seem strange for Australia to continue to have an obsolete version of the UK flag as part of its flag.

St Andrews Cross is Scotland, Not St David , he is Welsh.

Even in the unlikely event that Scotland did leave and the flag changed , there would be no need to change our flag at all, if anything it would Strengthen the historical relevance of the flag as it would reflect the mother nations flag at the time of federation of Australia and founding of our nation, it would be a historic flag rather than the current British flag, if you look at many US State flags and Canadian provenance flags they have this same thing, Quebec for example has the old French Royal Flag not the current French Flag.

You are right Bazza; good to see that you are on the ball. Notwithstanding the error, the premise is still correct that there would need to be a change to the flag in a somewhat diminished UK.
