Now that Britain has voted to remove itself from the EU, there will need to be a change to the Australian flag. This will be as a consequence of Scotland removing itself from the United Kingdom and to remain in the EU; hence, there will be a change to the Union flag and by extension to the Australian flag.

Onya BC.

Have been saying this for decades.

Just drop the Jack and put the Federation Star in its place.

Just the Star, no other bullshit flags, designs or emblems.

Keep it simple.

I've not seen that version of the flag before Devonleigh and must admit...I like it very much.

What a load of shit.

Hawaii is part of the USA a republic and has the Union Jack.

Scotland has their chance for independence and voted strongly to stay in the UK , they are going nowhere now.

Well done to the UK , a great result for the common voter , a victory over the banks, corporations, political elites, and all the big guns.

good bye EU hello world!

I agree with these sentiments about the flag change, although my brother who is a long serving member of the Royal Australian Navy makes a great point to me that many lives have been lost under the current one and wars fought and he is dead against it.
I am also a monarchist and hope we never go down the republican road

I think an even better change would be the southern cross and star in its usual spots and the aboriginal flag in the top left hand corner to truly represent all our people
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

Don't hold your breath waiting for Scotland to pull out of the UK. They rejected the idea in a recent referendum and don't have the infrastructure and financial independence to go it alone.

I think your brother in law needs to drop the blinkers. I'm also a long serving former member of the RAN and would love to get rid of that Union Jack off the flag. You get a bit brainwashed with the flag thing when you start, but once you start thinking for yourself you have to question the relevance
