Mindboggling people still vote for Palmer given his history, on top of that Kelly is an absolute scum bag, then there's the fanciful policy of freezing interest rates which is impossible to do without a communist like economy.

Mate latest indications are ALP will end up with 80 seats, even if that;s a bit off its still a wacking majority.

Bazze wasnt the last election supposed to be ALP in a landslide. My concerns in voting for them based on their previous history is Mr Eggs Over Easy probably will be replaced by in house fighting before his first term is up.

The thing that has frustrated me most about this campaign is that people have felt the need to shout at each other both face to face and on social media. It was epitomised by the 2nd leaders debate but there is a concerted campaign by both major parties to denigrate the other and make personal attacks on their opponents as per USA . In my opinion this behaviour is much more prevalent than previous elections and some of it comes from the Trump playbook

There has been very little debate on policy where the reality is that both sides have come up with some interesting ideas for voters to look at. Unfortunately all this has been drowned out by the constant negativity and personality politics that is in the news cycle and of course that lays the path for disiilusioned voters to be drawn to the minor parties some of whom have got very few coherent platforms.

I have decided which way I am voting so I have disengaged from all the fear mongering misinformation that people are promoting in the media and elsewhere.

PS welcome back Bazza. Condolences for your loss

Well who are you going to vote for or have already? I hope you didn't vote for McGowan at the last election because I find that quite mind boggling how anyone couldn't see his true colours.

It's really quite simple, if none of the majors really impresses you then why vote for them? By voting for someone other than the Coalition or Labor you are making a statement and having your say.

The fact is one of those two will govern, we all know Palmer's or Pauline's policies will never be implemented because they have no chance of governing. Same with the Greens' and any other wannabe's.

It looks like the United Australia Party can smell blood. They think they can win at least 2 representative seats. And up to 4 senators.
They have negotiated with the 7,9+10 free to air Tv  stations. To run 1 hour commercials this week.On the main station and channels like 9Gem and 7 mate.
A one hour tv commercial on one of the main stations. Is believed to cost around $600,000 for the very large add.
And technally the United Australia Party is the largest Political party in AU.With 83,000 members.Labor just over 50k and the LNP just under 50k.

It's a sad day for Australia that the fat cane toad can garner so much support, I had always hoped that Australian voters were far more intelligent than Seppo voters but maybe not.

Even more sad is all you can come up with is calling Clive a big fat cane toad and call people unintelligent who choose to vote for him as an alternative to the predictable garbage we have had to put up with for the last 15 to 20 years post John Howard treating us like we are idiots.

And Clive Palmer is obviously a lot smarter than any of us on here otherwise we'd all be billionaires like him.
