In regards western weapons, he seems to be completely unaware that Stalin only beat Hitler because of Anglo-American 'lend lease' and the fronts in Africa, Italy and France

Ark just checked what you said about supplying the Soviet Union in WW2.
In today's money the US sent 61 Billion in equipment.And the British 19 Billion.
Around 20 % of there armed forces and logistics was sullpied by the US alone.
5218 Tanks.Churchill,Shermans,Comets
7952 fighter planes.Hurricanes and P380Air Cobras
52,000 Willy's Jeeps.
150,000 Studebaker Usg Trucks.
Around 25% of all diesel used by the Soviets.
British handed over 25 Destroyers and 50 patrol boats.
Medical supplies, Food stuff,canned food wheat,dairy products.
Like today Stalin would of struggled to feed his army and civilian population without the Ukraine.

gtr: the lorries/trucks by the thousands, as you know, helped  the Red Army keep the offensives going later in the war .The Brits gave them 5000 tanks alone. Putting that number in perspective, the German army invaded Russia with less, 3,500 tanks.

Ark the Comet and Churchill's tanks+Hurricanes fighter planes where made in Canada,paid by the US government.
The only country that paid the lend lease back to the US was the British.Dont think that got a brass razoo out of the Soviets.

My understanding is that there is plenty of reason for it. NATO keeps getting too close to Russia. Imagine if the Russians put bases in Canada and Cuba - Uncle sam wouldn't like it. They would warn them not to but if they did - Uncle sam would annex Cuba and big parts of Canada. At least that is my understanding

All he wants is ownership and control over Ukraine, and a new USSR, because if Ukraine is a Pro West Democracy on his door step Russians wil get the idea that it can happen in Russia as well - and thats good night to his deictatorship and billions in ripped off cash he's made.

Ukraine seem to be making big gains in the south as well now, Russia looks like its whole stinking occupation might be about to collapse.
