Well its on, Putin has announced the Military Operation and urged the Ukrainians to surrender.

 

Very disturbing stuff. Was only a month or thereabouts ago that Putin is quoted as saying that Russia would not invade. However he is a politician and look what's happened. Of course the U.S, Australia, UK and others will enforce "strict" sanctions on Russia. That will mean stuff all in reality because of the Russian secret military bank. 

WAG, you mean that Morrisons sanctions are not enough to sway Putin away from these actions, and yes I am having a dig but it always amazes me when Morrison and others like abbott make threats, we are a small player and frankly it makes us look silly. Better to shut up and move on!

Sanctions never work, the US had sanctions for decades against Iran, Cuba, Vietnam and North Korea, not a single regime has fallen.

While sanctions will make zippo difference, can you imagine the shit storm from the media if he didn't announce sanctions, he would be lambasted from piller to post. The move to apply sanctions has been supported by Albo, he also knows that the media would have crucified him if he did nothing.

A lot of this crap goes back to that idiot Trump sucking up to Putin, Trump spent two years undermining NATO saying he was going to pull out of NATO and getting cosy with Putin, who clearly had dirt on Trump.

The USA have got a pretty good foothold in Taiwan so advantage USA there. Europe and the US including Australia could role in and occupy the Poland Ukraine border but that means either a high stakes game of poker or an all out World War which would play right into China’s hands.

It’s probably what China wants so while the US is preoccupied with Russia they’ll launch an all out assault on Taiwan. A Russian Chinese alliance is a scary proposition.

I bet Putin gets a hard on every time he sees footage of Xi Jinping rolling down the streets with his arsenal of weapons and obedient soldiers and dozens of islands they are creating in the South China Sea and their formidable navy. For the first time Russia has a formidable ally. If only they could understand each other. Lol 😂
