A picture starting to take shape now of how WA Labor are reverting to old ways, Stokes $750 Million Gas Waitsia deal moulded on the eve of the state election  and now Sneakers former chief of staff Guy Houston shuffles off to work for Stokes just after the March election win, that on top of Wyatt gliding onto the the boards of Woodside and Rio merely weeks after leaving Treasury armed with the full knowledge of every State in every minute detail vulnerability in contract deals that these resource giant corporations will be licking lips at exploiting.

Interesting times ahead.

Bazz Leopards can't change their spots! Plus this state government can at best be described as Labour Lite, loves to hang with the big end of town with a view to jobs after parliament, not a true "kill the bosses" labour govt like Pinko Albo would have us suffer under.

You probably got a point Baz but good luck attracting people into politics if they can’t get a job in private enterprise after retiring from politics. Alan Carpenter went to work for Wesfarmers I believe after losing the election as Premier. What’s Colin been up to since losing the election to McGowan? He’s flown under the radar a bit.

Why is it that the same old stories, oops fairy stories start to be rolled out.

McGoo and his mates are no worse nor better than any previous elected government we have had in the past decade, same rorts, same mates agreements.
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

Agree Grump. People still have to make a living after politics depending on age and circumstances and I can't think of too many sectors they could possibly go into where the accusation of peddling influence couldn't be used by others.

Colins retired, I think does a bit of lecturing at UWA which was his old job, but basically retired. Pretty much the same Charlie Court and John Tonkin when he pulled the pin but that was back when pollies had a genuine public service bent and not lining own pockets.

Yeah mind you I also see the Sneakers got a big endorsement from the CCP up in Beijing today saying what a great bloke he is looking after them . you know the same regime than ran over 1000s of folks in Tinnamen Square and runs Gulags. screws over Hong Kong  and wants to invade Taiwan. Meanwhile the rest of the western world is trying to hold them to account, sounds like Rio have a job lined up for sneakers with his mate Wyatt.

I'd love to see ex-politicians go into small business after they retire rather than big business. Then the fuckers would find out what its like to have to make your own dollars, pay a shitload of tax, employ people and worry about the myriad business regulations and red tape that is the bane of every business owner.

Wa Ink type deals are ok as long as we don't lose big money.Like what happened with the Kwinana PICL plant. Also the money's shared around to all.Not just the top end of town.
It looks like we have lost the Submarine maintenance to South Australia.Who will also build the Subs whenever.700 jobs lost there.
4.7% unemployment in WA is good for a developed economy. So almost everyone who wants a job in WA can get one.But we need to keep the wheels turning or we will fall over.
