Yep, I'm told we couldn't have picked the younger Mitch, Adelaide took him before our pick but would have our recruiters picked him if he was available? We will never know but I tell you one thing. If Lachie Neale wants to go home we should be demanding a straight swap for McGovern. Jeremy I believe we could have had. Yep, another recruiting blunder.

Two of our earliest draft picks in the last 5 years have been Jayden Pitt and Jessie Simpson what a waste.

Failed to recruit any quality key forwards either through the draft or through trades.

Fail to show any boldness or imagination at the trade table when we should have been offering up the likes of Zac Clarke, Barlow, Mayne, Sylvagni, Suban etc.....

Just a week or two ago Caroline Wilson questioned the recruiting record of Mathew Lloyds brothers and Chris Bond and apologized to Mathew. Mathew said no need to apologize you are entitled to your opinion. Lloydy made no attempt to defend our recruiting because he most likely agrees.

I don't think they place enough stock in local talent from the WAFL. Marcus Adams is a classic example, his growth as a player has been plain to see and right under the noses of our recruiters.

Mc Governs brother?

Conor Blakely was picked instead of McGovern who was rated very highly in that draft, more than likely he will debut this week, can't really judge that trade until we see how Blakely performs over the same amount of games and Tbh McGovern has only played a handful of games himself.

Oh no, so we could have picked Mitch? You said it yourself Pete, who do we have to replace Pav and McPharlin? There is your answer. So far Mitch showing he's as good in the air as older Jeremy and as one commentator said yesterday looks to have more definition and might prove to be more durable than Jeremy.

Yeah he has ,but if your going to post something how about using facts Taberner was rookie listed when McGovern wasn't even draft age so unless you can add a couple of years on Mcgoverns age the comparison is absolute crap.

Mate I don't know why didn't eighteen other clubs pick up Fyfe who went at pick Twenty if Bkakely turns out to be a gun are you going come back on here and say you were wrong., he's only played a handful of games not only that Walker,Jenkins,Lynch and Eddie Betts would get the best defenders .

So Micheal Johnson out for two months with hamstring tear/ medial ligament probably the end for him, full rebuild mode I guess we will see if Lyon has it in him to build a list.

I agree. Should not play for Freo again. No use coming back at round 13 and playing two or three games for Peel - and then the last 6 games for Freo. Does his contract finish this year.

How about Tabernare as a Back and Pearce as a forward.

Pete I think Ross Lyon has answered that question for you. I want to see what Connor Blakely can do as much as anyone but RL won't pick him. He clearly thinks the likes of Crozier, Sheridan, Langdon, Weller and Grey are ahead of him.
