The Onus is on the WAFC to sort this out. They have shown they are incapable of sorting anything out as they have shown and play favourites. They are totally incapable and have proven they are are totally incompetent.

I was deflated and angry after the game. Not with our Heroes as they gave their all. 12 games in a row didnt help and fatigue had set in.

I did not see it as a loss but proof that something smells and as a result the WAFL GF was a sham. I am certain WPFC will bounce back next year and get another crack. If it is against The Money club the result will most probably be the same due to their milking of the other WAFL clubs and being able to afford interstate players due to their bottomless pit of money. Subi club and function rooms at Domain drags in a fortune. from corporate signs corporate boxes and 500 seat allocations on AFL game day at SUBI! Given to them by the WAFC as compensation for the lease running out! SUBI have won as many premierships in the last decade as did in their first 110 years existence. It is another example of money talks and wins Premierships.

To quote Mr Schofield in a West article... Gotta read between the lines

The removal of Smith’s five points will give Subiaco room to restore Twomey, who was deregistered last week after a broken toe made him unavailable for several games.

Schofield was so angered by The West Australian’s reporting that he banned his players and himself from speaking to the newspaper for the rest of the season. But in a powerful defence of Subiaco’s approach, he told SportFM yesterday the Lions had not cheated the system and the other WAFL clubs supported their strategy.

Schofield said Subiaco’s approach was no different to an AFL club elevating a rookie while a senior player was on the long-term injury list.

It also means the club’s seven 10-point players — Twomey, Matt Boland, Lachlan Delahunty, Leigh Kitchin, Jordan Lockyer, Sam Menegola and Brett Robinson — are about to be registered simultaneously for the first time this season.

“We tried to keep our list as strong as possible and it got to a point that it was a little bit sticky,” Schofield said.
“I understand the WAFL’s reasoning (for the points system) to make sure clubs don’t rort the system. But to say that we are cheats is a joke because all we have done is work within the rules to manage our list.

We don’t specifically target players from other states but our recruiting network around Australia is strong. That’s made up of former players, coaches and people involved with the club who identify talent around the country.” Said Sanders

“The ability to provide the opportunity for players on the field is one thing but to also provide stability, employment and a professional football environment is what sets you apart.”

MONEY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT SO IT APPEARS :(

Have a good off season. :)

Hi Cardy, great catching up yesterday on a shit day as it turned out, the pionts system needs a revamp, maybe restricting all clubs to a maximum of only 2 x 10 point players would work? and none of this delisting players during the season bullshit to fit others in, stiff shit if one of them gets injured, elevate a local kid to take his place instead..

yeah it as hilarious....Browne is a gutless prick just like you. If you thought running through a bloke going back with the flight of the ball to take a courageous mark was a good look then you are a bigger tool than I previously thought....moron.

So he is meant to pull up and let him mark it BC , is that what your saying ? Maybe you should tell Wortho too, he did the same 2 weeks earlier. You are far too biased

one player had eyes only for the ball, the other had eyes only for the man. the fact Browne was reported says it all.

Commiserations Cardies .....another cheque book premiership

& no doubt you smiled when the purple houso cracked the chick the other night too...

I couldn't care less about some AFL brainwashed numpty - I had 3 valuable minutes wasted on the telly about that piffle the other day

I smiled because of parts of the game reminded me of bygone Grandies champion

I cant argue with that

Growler wrote: The players picked were
5. Nelson (stats driven pick)
4. Stryjky (deserved)
3. Potente (possibly a number 5 pick?)
2. Brown (maybe because he almost drove a $ubi player into next week)
1. VB - 'best on ground' (generally solid player but ??)

And that's the order I believe from 5th to best on ground.....

Interesting that each of the players awarded, as Bill stated, would not have anything to say after they were awarded - unsure if that was the players wish which may have been the case considering the emotions etc, but then I'm sure many at the Italian Club would have liked to have heard from them, their thoughts, their feelings and then ... the co-captain gets 'best on ground' and is the only person to have a say ??... last pick of the bunch and its a captain with good speaking technique ... ok ok I agree I'm showing a more than usual cynical aspect to my observation, but itS 'my observations' AND RANT :)

I still do not understand Keitel getting the nod for the day? Too young too inexperienced and if it came to it as I understand it from the Italian Club scuttlebutt, Jones was ready to go and was overlooked - an x GF player overlooked for a young still in footy diaper trainee -- don't get it.
You throw in Razor (questionable form ((not heart))- you throw in Rass (broken bone in foot) and you don't bring in a big bodied GF player and yet leave a 19yr old in??

Hindsight gonna be a bitch with that one

Lourey didn't get up in more way than one manner..
Adams did not get the job done at all and made little impression on the game ..
These two players alone saved 5 goals last week and kicked 6 goals - now that 11 goals gone begging this week ummmm what did we lose by again.

The best on ground last week (K.M.)plays the same game this week and does an even bigger job on $ubis forward weapon YARRAN that doesn't get him a mention??

*Mentioned here about the WP crowds leaving at QTR time...................
How dare they??...
What a heartless - gutless group of wanna bees supporters... Im sorry but I cannot take the absolute arrogance and its all 'about me' choice doing that makes .
What about the effect on a group of players already showing their heads are down?
How would you like to be playing at a game of such significance and watch red & blue colors skulking away up the isles or empty seats anew at the start of the 4th qtr..
Shame on you all. Shame !!!
Where were you to clap the boys off as they moved to the players race past celbrating $ubi at the final call of the game
If anyone should hang their head in shame its the West Perth supporters who left the ground BEFORE THEIR PLAYERS DID!!

Growler, calm down mate. The boys were physically exhausted the poor pricks, the energy used up just during the build up to GF is taxing, they threw everything at them and 10 min of footy killed us in the 2nd qtr.

Brownie is no where near gutless and I have never seen him do anything near that sort of act. In all fairness he should only get a week going by the non event of Worthington. Delluca is in the top 5 snipers in the WAFL, seen him umpteen times dishing out cheap shots and he gave a few jabs to Brownie yesterday which is part and parcel I suppose, Brownie may not have seen it that way when a opportunity came up.

Conveniently glossing over the Worthington incident again, so biased

I didn't see the Worthington incident as I was coaching an under 17s GF on that day.

I did, didn't think it was great, but didn't see the need to call him a dirty mongrel etc etc, sometimes on ha footy field you make split second mistakes that look bad.

Hope you won your GF , much respect to anyone who puts in the hard yards to coach junior footy

Surely you are kidding
I'm guessing you spent more time talking to mates than watching the game??
I fully appreciate the lead up to the GF and the fact that we pushed through a massive number of weeks without a break - BUT -if we cant perform on the day then we shouldn't have been there.

Im not talking just about winning - but performing!!

We didn't just lose the game in a 'ten minute splash' - jeezeus where have you been all year... with our come backs - Lazarus risen from the dead results, last weeks magnificent game etc etc
No excuses here I am afraid - more than several players DID NOT PERFORM and there were errors made in the coaches box (never said before but sadly I have my doubts now)
You cant give up and several of the players at half time had done just that and it only took ten minutes back on the filed in the third Qtr to show it again - all the pump from the half time coaches spray/chat/play dissection had worn off and so had the oooommph

10 players cant win a game and when its against an outfit like $ubi ..its not going to be pretty
The unsung hero is Keunen 'again' - apparently playing with and through a Migraine !! well done mate.

Leedy is right Growler. The boys had the long road home and they were spent. Subiaco are a strong side, you can say what you like about Subiaco but we did beat them this year. Bill is a strong coach and is dedicated to the West Perth Football Club and I know he is respected by the players. Yes it was a shit of a day and like Harro used to say, ITS GOING TO BE ONE OF THOSE DAYS.

An interesting statistic to note is the time in the forward half.
Towards the end the first quarter the ratio was West Perth 86% Subiaco 14%.
At this stage the scoreboard was level at three goals each.
West Perth needed to convert more goals or shut down Subiaco to a minimum.
Over the remaining three quarters Subiaco improved their ratio and gained ascendancy.
