Great to hear Craig Thomas got Colts coach of the year... Well done Craig our boys certainly didnt underachieve

www.falconsfc.com.au/news/9272/craig-tho...ts-coach-of-the-year

Thomas has now been colts coach at West Perth since 2011 and has done a tremendous job producing and developing talent to go on to play in the AFL or quality league WAFL football.

Cardy I am aware how well your colts' team have performed against Swans this year, could you please explain how their coach could have been made Colts' coach of the year?

No we can't explain Swan 42, if it hits a nerve that he was awarded the CCOTY, ring the people that made the decision, clearly the swans coach should have got it ???

Leedy I did not say nor did I imply that the Swans' coach should have received the award. It is my understanding that West Perth finished fifth in the colts' competition and I was wondering on what basis the West Perth coach won the award. Perhaps occasionally it is worthwhile to take some questions on face value.

Freezin wrote: 42, I am more interested in your explanation for why you simply can't say "well done to the WP colts coach" on his selection TBH?....

Freezin it is quite simple an explanation. I was not cognisant of the rationale behind the decision; hence, the question to find out the rationale for the decision. Once I was privy to the reasons then it would seem reasonable to me to recognise the achievement.

Right on the mark Falcon, 5 teams in the finals from a 9 team comp????
Anyway we just have to wait a week for the Su v WP game which should be an absolute clinker given your mob rolled us last time we met and WP always lift significantly come finals time as proven in 2013.

Same basis that Dawson won it for the league last year...no basis, chosen by dhs...

DG that comment is way out of line..
Agree entirely re Dawson... who won a coaching award even though

HE WASNT ACTUAULLY THE COACH OF THIS ALIGNMENT SIDE HE WAS LEAD BY WC Coaches
He was coaching AFL players so who are coached by their own coach!! So how could it be given for coaching EPFC when majority of players were AFL players?
and the list goes on.
The decision was obviously made by EP cronies and pro alignment members of the WAFC Committee...

Craig has done a great job with WP Colts this year and got them into finals. His playing group was undermanned but his coaching bought the best out in them.
I realise other clubs Like SD and CLA and Peel coaches could of been in line for the award but I suggest the parameters for picking the Coach of the year is not Ladder positions but the overall season performance and other involvements by the coach in question.

Craig has developed a lot of players at WP from his Colts position... Just to name a few

Back in 2011 when Thomas began as colts coach at the Falcons, his team included league premiership players Laine Rasmussen, Shane Nelson and Nick Rodda, AFL draftees Brad Hill and Jordan Lockyer, and current West Perth senior players Mitch van Berlo, Brayden Antonio, Corey Chalmers, Drew Rohde, Aidan Lynch and Tim Sutherland

I suggest you read the bio on why he got selected...
westperthfc.com.au/news/9272/craig-thoma...ts-coach-of-the-year

League coach of the year?

So who won the League coach of the year this year or hasnt it been decided yet.
Lets hope the money club coach doesnt get it or either of the Alignment Club coaches.

My pick would be the CLA Coach Michael Broadbridge who turned CLA around who were not in the race and he mangaged to turn them around to get into a finals berth..
