WHAT A PATHETIC CLUB THEY ARE AND THE WA UMPIRES... Mr SINCLAIR IS OBVIOUSLY IN THEIR POCKET AS WELL.

East Perth have received an apology from the WAFL umpire department over two critical last quarter free kicks that helped West Perth snatch a remarkable victory last weekend.
As the Royals held a rigorous inquest at the club into their meek surrender that saw West Perth produce an 80-point turnaround in little more than half an hour of football at HBF Arena, the umpires acknowledged their role in the spectacular comeback.

I for one feel sorry for the umpire (s) concerned as they have been indirectly and unjustly blamed for our 12 GOAL TURNAROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on.. Obviously a EP official has put in a formal complaint to the Umpires re the umpiring of the the game!!! Howson? The Germ Dawson? it would have to come from this level.

The umpires are being blamed for the EP players performance and their GUTLESS effort in the last qtr.
They talk of Lee and Elbows Wulff being injured that had a bearing.. COME ON!

They talk of errors by the umpires that turned the game... Hold on what about the ERRORS made by the EP players who were out on their legs..

I saw no difference to the umpiring standard compared to many other games and kicks were missed and it went BOTH ways. Pity EP didnt have a good look at THEIR AFL video that gets taken at every AFL alignment game and point the FINGER AT A FEW OF THEIR PLAYERS.

It is a mixed article where on one hand they claim it wasnt the umpires fault entirely yet the umpires have been dragged over the coals and a FORMAL COMPLAINT must of been made by the EP FOOTBALL CLUB... Its either one or the other but EPFC want it BOTH WAYS.

The EPFC should be investigated and the article along with it.. The umpires concerned should be apoligized to by Sinclair and the EPFC for their PATHETIC behavior and Bringing the game into Disrepute.

After reading the article I too agree I had bile begin to rise with the disgusting intentions behind the articles content.

To have this quote written from the verbal recount of EP Chief Exec Dean (eagle) Turner "The umpires came back to us and said their performance was disgraceful"

Can anyone tell me of a previous time they are aware of the umpires admitting this manner of error - an apparent and quoted disgraceful error to a WAFL club??

I cannot believe this body, maligned as they can be, has lowered itself to admissions of this calibre - no wonder conspiracy theories abound regards AFL involvement

But I would be happy to retract my words if any supporter and blogger on this site could confirm a similar or same statement being given their club after a game where umpiring issues have been noted - I would then like to have examples of a game here NO umpiring failures have been note by one or both sides?.

Yep bit hypocritical by the Umpires board.
I find WAFL umpiring in most cases (no all) to be Substandard and in the rare case bad decisions have influenced the games result... WAFL umpires are not the only culprits and we also see this at AFL level on the odd occasion... Shit everyone makes mistakes including the players.

But for the Umpires board via Sinclair apoligizing to EPFC is a bit over the TOP..
It smells because of the AFL alignment with the EPFC. Someone from the EPFC obviously complained... We know how thin skinned they are take for example the Howson incident when SD scoreboard attendant put up Eagles or something similar and it hit the media..
It appears as if EP and to a much lesser degree Peel make a complaint everyone JUMPS

Lets hope the umpires board havent set a precedent by saying due to the standard of umpiring the FINAL RESULT was influenced. Err 12 goals I dont think so.
Shit they are going to have a busy time each week apologizing to WAFL clubs if this is the case.

Boys, The EPFC is an absolute disgrace. Its a shame because they were once a great club. As I have said in a previous post they act like a spoilt little brat who if he doesn't like how things a going thy pick up the ball and go home crying.
Umpires have been making mistake for years and if my memory serves me correctly they have influenced results through some of there decisions.
However Mr Turner should be looking at there own back yard and realise that some of the players don't want to be there playing in EP jumpers.
I have lost all respect for EP and especially Mr Turner.
How's this for a prediction. Dawson out next year Adam Selwood in. What do you reckon

Thanks SS for your input and you have said it all. Just the point you make about the Umpires board not comming out of their own Volition to run down the 3 guys who did this game and considering the margin it was not a goal on the siren decision.
Leedy hopefully JT hasnt written this article to get some reaction because my thoughts were when reading it were it seems to be all over the place and one minute he was saying one thing and then another... the article is so Contradictory IMO. It jumps from the Umpires being the Villians then the EPFC being the villians and the EPFC saying it was their own teams fault they lost because of their effort but the Article clearly states Sinclair apologized to the EPFC!!!Why would he do that unless a complaint wasnt made?

As one poster says it is totally against tradition and not exceptable that the umpires actually apologize after a game... It has never happened before and will never happen again. I feel for the 3 umpires who did this very Volitional game and a game played in great passion by both sides...and I suspect a VERY hard game to control.

Interesting comment Leedy that Sinclair issued a statement to the umpires re the issue as he knows his credibility and loyalty IF he did apologize to he EPFC it will certainly not add to the confidence of WAFL umpires knowing HE HAD STABBED them in the back.

Will be interesting to see what comes out of this issue.. Which as some claim is a storm in a teacup and no harm done... Crap it is not a storm in a teacup and reflects on the Credibility of our WAFL

The 3 umpires concerned were Jordon Wright,Ben Laycock and Rob McCaw

I see Jordon is umpiring the WP v EF game tomorrow... it will be interesting to see if the other 2 are doing games... Will have a look in the budget tomorrow.

The article was written by John [Pete] Townsend who I think generally writes good balanced articles. Turner said that the umpires came back to us and said their performance was disgraceful, I don't believe that. Those two free kicks did not start the MOMENTUM SHIFT in the match, sorry Mr Turner, the MOMENTUM SHIFT started at the eighteen minute mark of the third quarter. Cardy is right, Dean Turners comments are ambiguous and the West Australian newspaper should not have published this article. The East Perth Football Club does not need this type of crap. The East Perth Football Club are a great club and are needed in the WAFL as an authentic entity. The WAFL needs genuine rivalry not contrived unauthentic crap including crap in the newspaper.

Time for a witch burning or maybe get out your Dean Turner voodoo dolls.Definitely need something to lighten up the mood in joondy.Maybe even a picnic at the beach before the game might do the trick.
