Cant see the point in mind games Growler.. Germ Dawson will put on what he has got but must agree it looks like mind games because It has certainly confused me all these statements coming out. :(
Looking at the WC squad to be beaten by Port Lycett has not gone.

Heres the Eagles squad.. Great to see Hutchy has gone over

www.westcoasteagles.com.au/teams

I liked the selected side and hope Chris wont be playing with an injury if he does play?

Anyway what will be will be and lets hope it is a good game in perfect conditions :cheer:

All being well think we will stick with this extended lineup with a couple dropping back from the list.

B L Tedesco S Rotham S Browne
HB L Meadows N Rodda L Rasmussen
C R Kerr J Van Berlo K Shannon
HF M Johnson M Fowler A Strijk
FF D Rohde M Lourey K Manning
F C Keunen S Nelson A Black
Int. R Bartholomew, M Crisp, K Fullgrabe, M Guadagnin, A Lynch, M Van Berlo, B Wilhelm,

I think chris Keunen has to be rested. this bloke will play under any circumstances, bung toe, bung knee, bung knob, he will play if selected. rest the bloke and bring in sutherland. bring in yarran and bung him at full forward and leave him there. monomuncher has to think differently, ok, so we have no talls billy boy, so what are you going to about it. give fowler a go in the centre, throw lourey in the backline, give papertalk a go on the wing, all im saying monomuncher is be radical when the logical looks hopeless.

Thanks Screemar for voicing yours and my concerns.. Good suggestions and Tim Sutherland is up to the task. One thing our club has done over the last few years is relying on one Ruckman..Seva saved the day but injury has put him out. Bad recruiting by the club not to find another Ruckman to support Chris.. This has been shown with Seva being bought into the game last year after Chris got a late migraine.. Seva played half a game of ressies and then played a full game of League. :( Piss poor planning by our selection comittee and he club

Sick of hearing from some about the Talls problem.. We the best midfield in the the comp and we have Chookie and now Lourey in the forward line..

We have a great backline as well.

So that leaves us the Ruck!!! Our midfield is that good winning the ball the ruck in the centre is not the problem as they should be able to counter a strong opposition ruck. Same with stoppages. We have done it before where Chris and our players have managed against Height to win games.

We are capable of winning games with our small and medium players and sick of this Tall man issue comming up where we have to elevate players because of their Height and not THERE in play ability.

NO EXCUSES

Ok dont know about Papertalk even though I do remember a game v SD where he ran us ragged.
And the Yarrens both Chris and Hayden are doing the job even though at the moment in reserves just doing a job.. Maybe you are right and a elevation would mean a elevation in their game stand to be corrected on that opinion as I AM a great believer in merit based promotion.

Growler talked of mind games but I think this is far from the problem as EP will play their Eagles rejects and that is how their team will line up.. I was not impressed with their Extended side for this game and thought we had a chance but until we get a bit
of consistency in our side and stop this weekly up and down process we will not have confident side and the players concerned must be starting to GET PISSED OFF. :(

I will be surprised and very happy if we can knock over EP on Saturday.

Sure I will be ripped over the coals for this post.. ;)

All the best to all the grades

GO YOU MIGHTY CARDIES

Cardy,

If you have the best this and that then why aren't playing to your potential.

Black is an outstanding player, as is Stryk and a few others so what is it.

I omit Nelson cos I just don't think he does enough, possessions is only a small par of what he should be doing.

Remember I I only see WP twice a year at best, I often don't stay as I don't like the crap that goes on from both sets of supporters.
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

ummmm in question: if there is no point in mind games why does every professional sports body play them in one form or another?

I totally agree with the Rucking issue ... why there hasn't been any concerted effort to resolve this is a mystery

Regards our mids .. our turnovers are killing us, and worst of all our prolific ball getters are some of the worst at it.

A lack of talls especially in the backline aren't as big an issue if the current players learn to defend a little better with a single action PUNCH
But besides this - they are still performing at their best

We need movement through from the back - a breaking runner and deliverer of the ball
A second ruck.
A plan to get the ball to Loarey .. set plays and body assistance from the forwards.
Stop hugging the outer frigging boundary - IT DOEST WORK.
Stop the turnovers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GRUMP - I agree re Nelson and Stryk - Blacks turnovers are very disappointing.
Chookie is a brilliant kick at goal ...but .. suffers badly in skills elsewhere though and sadly wouldn't be there if the team didn't have the injuries.
Hit the players that are open and not kick to a contest.

Today I think we have a great chance against the Eagles kids -

Pity about another milestone though brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr that's gets me cold - its the elephant in the room again

Grump re your comment why arent we playing to our full potential.. I think those questions have been answered in previous posts.. As Growler says... disposal/backing up and talk

Growler Yep we have chance v EP and that is without a doubt.. it is up to the players to go out stick to a match plan if we have one.
We are better than we have been showing over last few weeks.
Would just like to see 4 full qtrs and we will romp it in... even 3 would be a surprise.

Pretty basic stuff and hopefully the coach is addressing these problems.

On another point One poster did mention Chris Yarren... Good question
Where is he? played v SD and havent seen him since. He started the season off well and his skills were incredible. Not on the injury list? Will try and find out today I hope he hasnt fallen by the wayside if you know what I mean.
Hayden is improving and also kicking a few handy goals up forward.
As I mentioned Papertalk has fallen off a bit and that worries me. The kid is a good footballer and has a future.

What can you say? Incredible.. twice this season they have done this..

What was it 11 goals straight without EP scoring to win the game after being 36 points? down going into the last qtr.

Obviously wasnt the match plan :)
I would like to thank OAKLEY-NICHOLLS for turning the game around who gave us 2 kicks at goal due to his undisciplined actions. Thanks for the 12 points :P

Reserves

Ressies won by around 13 goals as well which was great to see. Great team effort.
Hayden Yarren kicked 6 goals for WP in a great forward effort. Handy to have a guy like that in the Reserves.

Colts

Colts unfortunately went down after winning 5 on the trot. EP 1 win for the season and 8th on the ladder so goes to show on any given day anyone can win
