Chris Keunen has Written a good article in the IN THEIR WORDS WPFC column
Talks about last week and this weeks game.
And pays tribute to Browny

In part

This week is even more important as it is Browney's 100th for the club. We have had a number of milestones already this year and it is always good to win for those players. Browney has been an important part of the team's makeup since coming back from Carlton. His ability to read the play, take strong marks and hit targets by foot, have been a major reason for our wins in the last few years. His leadership is an integral part of the team especially with a number of young guys coming through the backline at the moment. I wish Browny all the very best for the game and look forward to chairing him off after a win.

It will be an interesting match as it sees us come up against three former teammates with Mitch Andrews, Kepler Bradley and Mark Seaby to play for Claremont. This makes for a good amount of banter on the field, but also a bit of it off it from the fans. As a team we don't think too much about them and we focus on the job at hand, however for them, I am sure that they want to make a statement against their old side and give a little extra.

I hope to see all our supporters at the Showgrounds on Saturday. Go West!

And just as a Tag on this week
Bill Monaghan on his comments in his AFTER THE SIREN series
Bill has great input back to the supporters.
Talks of SD game. The team as a whole, Keitels game, Injuries
Always worth a listen to get to know whats happening behind the scenes

Thanks to our major partners and sponsers for supporting our great club

I told you all that Claremonts first win would be against us, we are world class at running ordinary teams into form, what does that make us ??? Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong, we got stitched up by the Ex Falcons trio of Bradley, Seaby and Andrews. Full credit to our back half on the daunting task of being 6 inches smaller than the above mentioned. Richardson is officially the most "kissed on the cock" player in the WAFL, protected species that prick !

How did Razza go today? He is a great player and too good to play most of the year in the two's.

Razor had a Pretty ordinary game today mate.. did a couple of good things but not outstanding.
Came up because Striker had a rest today with a niggling injury and kept for EP game.
If it was toss up on who came up I would of preferred Crispy as a bit more hard at it.

VB had a blinder and in everything.. Chris Keunen got cleaned up in the first centre bounce by Seaby... came back later and tried his hardest but big call playing against 3 talls. Browny, Kerr and Blackie tried hard

Pretty poor performance by most today and I would go as far as to say the 2nd qtr would have to be the worst I have seen by our guys in a long long time. Total chaos.
Will be good to get Marcus Adams back as he does make a difference.

Lot of work to be done with 3 hard ones comming up Being EP EF and then EP again.
Having said that our guys run hard and play hard and no passengers but just no plan in place. Turnovers shocking. Not backing up the player going for the ball are 2 of our worst offences.

Got a bit pissed off with the kicks into the forward line that were just blasting away.. Saw Michael Loury a couple of times one on one but they chose to kick in the pocket to a group rather than to our key forward.. I felt sorry for him as they just didnt look before kicking.

Couple of minor problems that can be sorted out.

Umpiring was unacceptable but we have come to expect that at all clubs and it is part of the WAFL game. Can never be used as an excuse as it usually goes both ways.

MILESTONE games :S – we DONT like them at all!! We do not rise to the occasion sadly
But congrats to Steven Browne
You’d have to say that we got smashed in the second Quarter and never really made it back from there.
Kuenen out in the first and then a valiant effort to return… Missing tall and foreboding backline.. Come back M Adams ;) ..Not to say that under the circumstances our boys did their ‘absolute best’ against talls matching up against a loss of centimetres when in contests…well done
With the amount of time spent in the backline I would have favoured some of them over our mids for best on field -Speaking of the mids – Once again unproductive penetration into the forward line – kicking sideways, backwards, bombing away, and handballs to the opposition in congested packs …Once again 1/3 of their stats actually effective ball carrying ???

I will continue to not congratulate players who are not effective in their clearances and disposals. Lourys lack of possessions/disposals is not to be credited to excellent opposition but rather bad delivery and he will not be able to show us his full capability’s until we as a team consider him THE FORWARD
Razor did not bring his best game back with him
Manning I still see never gives up and has the ability to bust the packs and do what others can’t seems to and that even with low stats, provides effective ball delivery – pity he doesn’t get the chance to use his kicking skills more. And that tackle BANG!! hahahaha, great to see the playing group join to congratulate Manning for his scariest skill -THE TACKLE!!
Van Berlo – wonderful game again
Guady always a stand up player and reliable to be their with you ... others should look at this value
Rasmussen ever thrifty and shows great effort to succeed but can at times be sucked into this sideways/backward play and hugging the boundary
Kerr another good game, keeps the game real.
All in all – not an acceptable outcome and much better should be shown to the Coach and the supporters
If the players can’t here the groans of disappointment in the crowd – they should – let me confirm to them that they are there!!
Maybe take a string from Black Ducks bow and remove 7-10 players from the seniors after this effort and bring up some young, fresh blood… ½ the team need a BIG WAKE UP CALL!!
Time for a session of honesty between them all me thinks . .. some truths to be shared and accepted!!
Your supporters deserve MORE

Agree with all Growler....Good roundup

I forgot to say well done to Browny as he played well but then again he always is the silent achiever in my book. I am sure even though we lost he would of walked off knowing he had done his best for the team.

Re possessions by CLA a third of them would be from WP deliverys e.g turnovers via handball an kicking.

Do think our guys are talking to each other out there??? I dont hear much going on and find a few of our players get caughty BECAUSE no one warns him before he is pounced on and same goes for contesting marks.

I really think Claremont is a Hoodoo ground for our club. Dont know how many times have walked away disappointed whether it is showgrounds or Cla oval

Last 11 games is now CLA 8 wins WP 3. :(

Cant blame the surface or the shape of the oval. Know it sounds suspicious but I never feel comfortable when we play there.
