I forgot to say well done to Browny as he played well but then again he always is the silent achiever in my book. I am sure even though we lost he would of walked off knowing he had done his best for the team.

Re possessions by CLA a third of them would be from WP deliverys e.g turnovers via handball an kicking.

Do think our guys are talking to each other out there??? I dont hear much going on and find a few of our players get caughty BECAUSE no one warns him before he is pounced on and same goes for contesting marks.

I really think Claremont is a Hoodoo ground for our club. Dont know how many times have walked away disappointed whether it is showgrounds or Cla oval

Last 11 games is now CLA 8 wins WP 3. :(

Cant blame the surface or the shape of the oval. Know it sounds suspicious but I never feel comfortable when we play there.

We certainly have had the wood over you at home cardy over the last six or seven seasons but you did win one of the most important ones, the 2013 first semi

God it was close.. so still a heart stopper
Our kicking was pretty bad. Crispy kicked 4 that day...Maybe he should of been elevated to play CLA yesterday?

Of course we went on to BEAT the EP EAGLES IN THE GRAND FINAL... OH WHAT A FEELING :woohoo:

Do think our guys are talking to each other out there??? I dont hear much going on and find a few of our players get caught BECAUSE no one warns him before he is pounced on and same goes for contesting marks.

CARDY: I have to agree wholeheartedly with this observation

One of the fundamentals in footy is to cover your fellow player and to give him the heads up when in danger, approached, about to be run down, tackled etc
Its very obvious that this player mate-ship / cover isn't happening. It absolutely cant be when guys are smashed with the ball in hand and others are running buy seemingly dumbfounded by the outcome....

Besides bombing away or disposals to anywhere, there is a game day lack of 'team ethic'.

Too many times kicking to 1 x player trying to out body or mark against 3 opposition ...and this person isn't Lourey who has half a chance as hes not even kicked too of late?

Trying to kick a goal by self outside the fifty or at odd angles when a player is lose in the square or at better odds.

Such a shame of MISSED opportunities - and we aren't that far away from winning every game - WE lose them arrrrgh!! its so frustrating

I am sure these things aren't showing up at Training - I can guarantee my mothers false teeth on that - so why on Game day it all goes to Shit I don't know - I can bet neither does Bill or the players who continue top hold up the team ethic :S

Thanks for the feedback mate.. Seems we think alike.. Good to get other input as what a individual see's isnt always the actual problem and other factors come into play.

I did notice on most occasions the ball was kicked to Lourey he actually had 2 CLA players with him. Whether he was double marked not sure but looked that way so in fairness maybe he wasnt a option? It obviously would of been good in hindsight as it would put a CLA player out of the game so to speak.

I am convinced though that WP players are just not communicating and saw this on many occasions including in front of goals where a player was clear and had PLENTY OF TIME yet took a pressure kick and missed the 6 pointer when if he had of taken another step and steadied it would of been a walk in the park. :(

The same can be said of WP players who were clear of opponent upfield and waving madly yet the player with the ball took the FIRST OPTION and in my opinion didnt even look up field to see the loose player. So they took the short option which eventually reached the player upfield WHEN HE WAS COVERED. Again his team mates didnt talk to him.

This is also where at least 4 occasions I saw a WP player do the hard yards and then kick Directly TO A CLA player... Fark this is when you heard the moans and I dont blame the WP supporters as it pisses you right off. Ok if under extreme pressure it happens and that is not a problem but in most cases the PLAYER DID NOT LOOK UP.

And seeing I am on a roll how many times did you hear supporters yelling out
HELP HIM OUT.... Sadly this is a WP trait where they leave the work up to one guy who is usually on 2 and just play seagulls waiting for the ball to come out INSTEAD OF RUNNING IN to help the player in the contest.
We have couple like Guady , Manning etc who do assist big time but others must do the same.

Bottom line there is nothing wrong with our Squad and we should be winning game that we have lost. Leedy did make a post that claimed our guys were not putting in the Yards or words to that effect and we would be lucky to make the 5... I didnt like this negative attitude but in hindsight I think he is right after the last 3 matches.

Lets hope the club addresses these issues before we meet EP EF EP because if they dont we will LOSE ALL THREE.

It would be nice to feel and to see that some 'set plays' were given to Lourey, that he could rely on certain players when they get the ball to know what his signals or body language portrays and to hoodwink the opposition with this strategy

Im sure we have the players to so it

I agree the Seagull effect is in full flight but what a shame these birds aren't going after the chip instead of waiting for the crumbs (puns intended)

I have a belief in the squad that if they were HONEST with each other and took on some home truths they could and would turn it around.
They are able to take it to anyone in the comp on their day and I mean ANYONE and its been proved
Yes we need some bodies back especially in the back-line and this will happen in the coming weeks... this will also alter the make up of the team
Maybe a couple of the players should consider this :)

Reserves

Yep could be a few rotations but doubt any major moves... One thing I didnt mention was Mitch Van Berlo's game in the Reserves... Last week pretty ordinary... This week v CLA he had a blinder... He was everywhere.. The drop has done him good and he will be back to the League soon... Braydon Antonio is comming back from injury after great form before his operation... Anyone who watched the Ressies will not forget his final goal on the siren... Humerous really... The WP player had a set shot and not confident.. Braydon ran through (must be a mind reader) had the ball handballed to him and kicked a brilliant goal... seconds later the Siren went for full time.
Shit that was a incredible ending. WP win and hopefully it will lift them to a few more.

They should have Jordon Jones playing in the Ressies next week.comming back after injury.. It will be interesting to see how he goes.
Someone will be dropped to the reserves when Striker comes back in. Possibly Razor but his 2 goals were handy so maybe someone else.
Crispy had a good one as did a couple of other reserves.
Coaches and selectors call...

Colts

Cant forget the Colts... 5 in a row now :) Could be 6 as EP colts 1 win only
WP COLTS TOP OF THE LADDER

Razor had a Pretty ordinary game today mate.. did a couple of good things but not outstanding.
Came up because Striker had a rest today with a niggling injury and kept for EP game.

Average player at best but on the plus side the property stewards love him as he always finishes games with a clean jumper.

Listening to Bill addressing the players after the game. Simple evaluation. We are to small, we have no talls. Claremont had the talls and that's how they won the game. The quicker Addams / Jones get into the team the better off we will be. Who will come up against Paul Johnson next week. I have said for six years that we are deficient in the ruck, Chris cant do it alone. Fancy putting Drew Rohde in the ruck, that's pitiful.

You could have used Mitch Andrews if Bill did not get rid of him.
