think the use of the word promise is a bit over the top..
dont think any wafl club can promise a player a job, certainly though as WP did with Krak last year it may be best to get the job finalised first before you tell the player what you have lined up for him.

the other part to this is the AFL teaches some of these blokes to act like 18 year old kids when a 10 year career finishes and they arnt able to fend for themselves and show some initiative to get their own employment..you have to wonder what these player managers and development officers are doing for these blokes along the way.

Kepler had the job, it was government cutbacks that closed the position. Kepler was not able to accept other positions offered to him such as retail and factory work. The West Perth Football Club honoured the terms of Kepler's contract and it was unfortunate that his job was closed even before he started.

I can't wait to hear what the excuse will be for the next big signing that walks out on the club.

Surely it can't be because of a incompetent football department. It must be that all these ex West Perth kids are bad eggs...

... really do think WP have dodged a bullet here......even if they did break a "promise" to the big fella when that 'jobs for the boys' offer of employment fell through due to cutbacks......all of it sounds very govt like TBH......quite suprised Channel 9 didn't step in and find the big fella a job ;)

I know of a few more examples also of players being promised things that never happen. You guys need to get a couple of car yards it makes life easier.

He was given opportunities to be interviewed for 2 x sales/BDM roles in which he was unsuccessful, can't help beyond that.

what is a "BDM" role. Is that an abbreviation for Bedroom ?

I think WP will be fine without him this year anyway. Good player with a scattering of flaws, but not a world beater.

Why don't these blokes find their own jobs like the rest of us mortals?

Are they that useless or lazy that they need a footy club to find them a job?

Trouble is most of these blokes(not all) are soft and need a soft job, put them out in a factory with men who get their hands dirty and "WORK" for a living and they "DON"T LIKE IT" ........
