Interview with Cameron Knapton Operations officer WAFC Today on 91.3 has clearly shown the Bias shown by that organisation towards the Alignment clubs.

Knapton has shown that they will not listen to reason and there is not reason why the WAFL Fixture EP v WP could not be changed to Sunday, Knapton comes out with a load of bullshit that would of been a simple change with no disruption to either club.
EP of course have seen the advantage of WP playing 2 games after a 3 Day break not a 4 day break as sprouted. They play in Tuesday night and then have Wed,Thurs and Friday off and play on Saturday. That is a 3 day break in my book. They cannot even add up!

Now lets have a look at it.
They claim the fixtures were locked in at the beginning of the season. Ok what they did not say is WP wanted a Sunday game included in these fixtures so out the door goes the arguement that WP agreed to a Saturday game.

Another point by Knapton is that EP could of been in the Final and they were happy to play on Saturday what he doesnt mention is EP can only play 10 AFL players in the Foxtel therefore if this is the case they would of still had 6/8 Fresh AFL players to play on Saturday!!!! So it would of been of little consequence to EP and considering their position on the table they are set in concrete so it is not a vital game for EP.

EP funding is such with the support staff and players being fully supported by the EAGLES have no great need to win the Foxtel cup.

It is quite obvious the WAFC is not willing to compromise in any way and they have shown they Collude with the Aligned teams and GRANT any wishes they have. EP has said no out of pure selfishness and no consideration to another WAFL club making a reasonable request.

I am not happy with the 91.3 commentators who seem to be going along with the plan even though Dean and Adam on Sports Breakfast did ask some good questions they got political replies and did not ask the simple question - WHY COULDNT THE GAME BE PLAYED ON SUNDAY AS IT WAS A GENUINE REQUEST AND WHY DID THE EPFC INSIST ON NOT CHANGING. There was no reason why the game could not of been changed and did not conflict with any EAGLES plans. Pure bloody mindlessness by the EPFC.

Knapton claims the 5 day rule was bought in JUST for the WAFL games so teams would not play on a Sunday or Monday and then have to front up on a Friday the following week. Bullshit if they consider the break is to short for a WAFL club why doesnt it apply in all cases????? From an interview I heard the rule was actually instigated by the 2 AFL teams and incorporated for their own interest and was not bought in at the request of the WAFL teams.
Bottom line is the rule didnt have to be bought in as when the WAFL fixturing is done it would not fixture clubs to play on a Monday and then on a Friday anyway as part of the Fixturing process!!!!!!!!!

YES I am angry as it is PURE BLOODY MINDLESSNESS and it shows the WAFC sole interest is in appeasing the AFL clubs and their alignments.

Knapton also talks on other issues including the TV rights but pleads ignorance as it is not his area of responsibility... Yeh to hard basket Cameron

I assure you I am not writing just because I am a WP supporter and would of supported any OTHER G7 club who was in the same position.

It will be interesting to see how our club approaches this Foxtel game and I would certainly not blame them if they went all out to win the Foxtel Cup at the expense of the EP v WP game. I am sure if we played a Williamstown side with a reserves team and lost there would be no certainty we would beat EP on Saturday anyway.

Knapton Hums and Ha's about the WPFC club being happy with the decision when he knows We are not happy with the decision.
He obviously does not put the WAFL first and his duty of care towards the WAFL Comp is lacking that is obvious.

The comments are not just about the Foxtel Cup issue but the whole Alignment mess.
We have a bunch of slow learners running our comp who after the Aligned club experiment back in 2000/2001 was Binned as it DID NOT WORK and one of the reasons give was the unfair advantage which was obvious with EP winning 3 GF in a row.

Wake up WAFC and start being honest instead of looking after your own self interests and the self interests of the AFL start looking at our Great WAFL competition going down the Drain.

The WA media is obviously running scared of losing Interviews and support from the WAFL/WAFC as many of the commentators support the WAFC decision. Listening to ABC sports talk on Saturday and they said WP will just have to accept the decision and stop whinging.. The fixtures are put in place and locked in at the beginning of the year... They forgot to mention or didnt know WP did apply for a Sunday game at the beginning of the season!!!! The 3 guys on ABC Grandstand are legends in their own teacup and AFL is covered in 95% of their programme yet they are a WA station why not more WAFL????
Will be intersted to hear what the boys on WAFL World say Friday 8am. It was mentioned last week on their show and they were of 2 minds. Worth a listen on the 91.3 website.

Here is the interview from 91.3 with Knapton..

Thanks for Supporting WAFL 91.3 and Colin Minson.

I don't see the big deal, all clubs at some point have had a 3 day break between games, in fact just last year we played Peel at Rushton on Sun April 21st and backed up 3 days later on Thurs April 25th v West Perth at Joond and we won by 5 goals too!! Instead of being negative I think West Perth should use it positively and it could actually galvanise a group that from what I hear on the grapevine are bickering amongst themselves ATM something that didn't happen last year!!
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

Mate understand that and he just followed Party Guidelines as all the WAFC board and comittee do. I had to put pen to paper after hearing it. Did he take over from this guy? or was he already there

They alleged during the County Court proceedings that Mr Sautner - who is now chief operating officer for the West Australian Football Commission - misused free tickets, and said the examples they’d submitted were likely the “tip of the iceberg”.

Mr Sautner agreed he used tickets “like currency”, but told the court he believed there was “absolutely no restriction” on who he could give them to.

Where the Fark do you get your information from SwanDog down at the local pub or when your have a puff? Why would the Group be Bickering amongst themselves and it didnt happen last year? Now that is a sweeping statement.

So now your saying there is conflict at the Club? I assure you there is not and from what I have seen the group is closer now than ever.
I hear thru the grapevine your clubs is having a few internal problems as well with players not being paid etc.. Sad really

So last year you contravened the WAFL regulations as well by playing within the 5 days. It was obviously YOUR CLUBS choice in the pre season Fixturing so why bleat about it.

Enjoy your Foxtel cup next year if you finish final 2..which you should

This will all grow an extra set of legs depending on Bills decision as to who flys over for the Foxtel game
If he indeed does send a majority Reserves side... Knapton wont be silent - that can be assured, as will many others I would think

Hard to say how Bill will go after the weekends game

I know we have a mathematical chance and all that to reach the finals but Reality sometimes comes along with a big set of teeth and takes out the seat of your pants.
Maybe the $100,000.00 will be an interesting carrot and the possible win would then be a great in your face to EP along the way?

I haven't been following this issue much but the fixtures were released at the start of the season. What if East Perth players/staff/officials or West Perth for that matter, planned "weddings, parties, anything" for that Sunday on the basis that the game was on the Saturday?

Mathamatical, shamatical, purely not good enough to play finals this year, regardless of how the cards will fall
