Well done to the Colts and Ressies. Reserves in Finals to play EP next week at CLA.
League side had a good run even though losing against the SWANS whingers who can certainly not blame the umpires with a least 4 given to them.
We missed some easy shots that cost us the game in the end. Few errors but at least Bill has had a good look at where we are at and will be a different game v CLA at Hoodoo park.
Finally my condolences to the EF guys who got up but by us losing missed out. Just gotta win those close ones guys and you would of been well and truely in the game.
EP will have a few AFL next week so best of luck to Swans at Basso but it will be a huge task.

You were totally off the mark Cardy!! What are your excuses after today then?? :D

Yep, totally outclassed today Swandog, you boys are premiership fancies again I think !

Obviously we are along with 3 others, its up for grabs now, and hopefully WP get through first!

Can only cross our fingers and hope we have a good showing in the 2nd Semi. BH, Mellington will be a handy addition along with Johnson and Rasmussen who looked good in the Dags yesterday. Tedesco and Pettigrew will hopefully come in by Prelim or GF (reserves or league). We didnt have a forward line yesterday without Slick and Mellington so Tedesco and or Pettigrew will free up Rodda to go forward chuck in Johnson (who has bulked up during his 7/8 weeks off) and we will look a lot better I reckon.

Now I have to bring up the umps, you boys would have to agree that you were "kissed on the cock" with the maggots, there were 4 crucial 50/50s inside 50 that most probably was the difference in the end !

Leedy most clubs could say they dont have their full team in at this time of the year mate ..Swans didnt have Embley, Simpson, Newman, Blight, Casserley, Pratt, Neale, Lammie etc playing League yesterday either through injury or other reasons but thats just the way it goes some years unfortunately!

Too true, hasnt Blight retired ? Lammie has left the club so you cant really include him, Casserley and Pratt have played 2 games between them in 3 years so not part of the furniture, I might as well chuck Mel Whinnen on our outs list in that case.

Come on mate those blokes I have named who are out for Swans at the moment are in our best 22 when fully fit both physically/mentally! Blight has had leg injuries most of the year & hasnt been able to string 2 games together certainly hasnt retired while Pratt & Casserley would be in our best dozen players but 1 has done his knee the last 2 years while the other broke his leg this season.
Anyways all of the players I have named from Swans have either played AFL, AFL listed or are Premiership players let alone their missing experience ..it more than compares AND SOME to WPs missing the likes of Johnson, Rasmussen, Tedesco, Pettigrew, Mellington I would have thought! ;)

thing is Leedy, EP have more to come back in, who are fit and ready to play compared to the likes of SD and even CL.....the likes of Rosa, Selwood, Cripps, Wilson and Lycett all add to EP mix.....Lobb will be working overtime dealing with both Johnson and Lycett, whilst Rosa, Selwood and Cripps add run to EP already potent midfield and Wilson strengthens EP underated defence......they might struggle at the elite level, but all these guys can hurt at the WAFL level.

SD will have to be on form to win on Sat TBH.......on song they are a dangerous side, but they did fall apart in the prelim last year at Steel Blue, to a similar AFL laden EF side.....can see the same happening TBH......actually if SD do lose would love to see a WP v EP GF......don't think Cl are outright favourites as Tallen says......EF beat them on the weekend with only one ruckman and missing their two leading goal kickers for the season.......

all the pressure now sits with Harding and Monaghan, neither have won a final..Daws and Webb will be confident going into this week..
Harding loses this week and he should pull the pin and head to centrelink with Malaxos and McMahon..

Hey BH do us a favour and put that free kick ladder up again and show Leedy the facts will ya! And im not whinging about getting a better run from that mob as its taken them long enough..and about the 50's, what about that 100m penalty in the ressies to WP? That cost us a finals spot
Anyway in 3 weeks i really hope either one of us will have the cup and not the Ferrals or Claremont
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

perhaps kicking 4.13 was the problem SD......saying that WP were no better kicking 5.13.....geez those umps have done it again to the SDFC.....yeah BH get that free kick ladder up mate, I just can't believe the umps actually hate the SDFC as much as SwanDog keeps telling us!

LOL... Yeh it was a bit one sided.. including 2 50 directly in front and a 100 mtr penalty (50x2) resulting 3 goals and a couple of soft ones in front. Do the sums yourself

1 of the umps should been wearing a SD jumper..
Having said that we missed 3 kicks in general play from right in front.
Looks like about 6 goals to me and Swans won by 3... Shit they robbed EF of a finals berth as well... No change for us in ladder position.

Round up of the game on WPFC site.. Good read

Full article

www.falconsfc.com.au/index.php/latest-ne...-to-look-forward-to/

Extract from the roundup

The Falcons played a good brand of defensive football in the second quarter and kept themselves in the game. Both sides kicked three goals. Tim Geappen kicked his second after a free and fifty metres. This gave Swans an eleven point lead. The first for the Falcons went to Jason Salecic who ran onto the ball after a clever kick forward by Mark Hutchings. He finished from the square. It was seven minutes before there was another score. This went to Swans and Wade Twomey who received a free and finished from forty. Not to be outdone West Perth kicked the next two to tie the game up at the twenty seven minute mark. The first went to classy finisher, Rohan Kerr, who finished on the run from forty. He was to kick three for the day. The second was a freakish snap by Mark Hutchings from deep in the pocket forty out. Swans finished the quarter with the last two scoring shots to take a seven point lead into the main break. The goal went to Tom Roach when he received a free kick. Four of the five goals kicked by Swans in the first half were courtesy of umpiring decisions. Scores were Swans 5.6 (36) to West Perth 4.5 (29).

Mark, from reading Cardy's post, I think WP are more worried about Cl and EP.....sounds like WP had SD measure but the umps gifted SD a couple of soft goals....seems like the umps really wanted SD in the finals, so they can hurt SDFC properly this weekend v EP in the 1st semi at Steel Blue.....like the way the umps think......
