Looks like Chris and VB passed fitness tests. This side is is close to best. Extended bench. A couple of good players will drop back to Reserves - GO THE RESSIES
Will miss Slick. Go the mighty Cardies :)

Missing Mellington, Tsalikis, Tedesco, Pettigrew and, maybe, Johnson & Rasmussen from our best 22 (though we have played most of the season without the last two). Expect Mellington to return from Dockers duty next week, provided he doesn't kick five or something stupid like that. Slick gone for the season. Still crossing my fingers re Petters and Teddy. Really need the ressies to win this weekend so that those two have a chance to come back through the twos...

Thanks for reminding me mate... Heres the Reserves team and Colts for the game.
As you can see not a bad line up and Rassa in there with Johnson.
I wouldnt miss the Reserves game for quids - Must win. Will be great to be able to get a double header final in. I was under the impression the reserves played the same as the League and depended on where they were on the ladder as to where they played. Had a situation the last time it happened and remember WP ressies playing at a different ground to League on the same day :( Pain in the arse.
I was advised by a WPFC Official that this is no longer the case and if WP reserves get into a final they will play at the same ground as League due to support staff etc. Hope this is the case.

Reserves

D Acres, M Alexander, J Batterham, C Branch, C Chalmers, S Curnow, J Embley, M Geraghty, S Healy, M Johnson, J Latham, A Lynch, M Mascoulis, B Mcnamara, M Mcphee, J Mills, S Money, B O'Regan, L Rasmussen, J Regan, D Rohde, T Shadbolt, J Thrum, M Van Berlo, B Walton, B Wilhelm,
Matthew Johnson

Laine rasmussen

COLTS

D Acres, K Bartel, L Beissel, N Bowe , K Egan, K Fullgrabe, J Gray, A Hardman, P Harvey, A Innes, J Kirwen, N Laurance, T Manners, J Maxwell, W Michell, T Moulton, D Munns, J Nolan, T Orford, M Peirce, J Phillips , Z Saunders, R Simcock, A Smith, T Sutherland, J Turner, T Wells,

Cardy, whats your take on Monaghan signing on for another 3 years, never won a final & if WP go out in straight sets this year the club could look quite stupid, surley they should of waited till the season was over?

AW mate what a question to spring at this stage of the season :( Ok you read my mind when I saw the 3 year extension possibly your thoughts too.

Bad timing for comments I think. Suffice to say his record is 4,5,2,5 over the last 4 years..Considering our Team list I think we could of done better? But lets not get to involved with the Kill the Coach syndrome as the players in a lot of games have let themselves down. Coaches fault?

I had a wish list that our favourite son would come back maybe being Harrow but then my thinking was slanted.Sure others thought the same. Bit rough on Bill as he has done a good job this year. Ok he could of made a few mistakes in previous seasons but he has gone through a learning experience and now is getting it right. I have liked a lot of his decisions THIS YEAR but that is just my opinion.

I like his approach to the finals this year and very professional. What would of put me off side is if he went in with a weak team this week as it would of come back to bite him in the arse but he is sticking to his Match plan and it is the only way to go..

Re waiting to season over cant see why. We have the team we wanted and the coach is using them the best way he can. Hard to find a fault. If we bow out it wont be because of Monaghan or the players. There has to be a winner and a loser and on the day the better team will win ;)

He has Never won a final but no one else has either because of the dominance of CLAREMONT.
My biggest worry is with the Ferals getting so many AFL players back and the dominance of Smith and Johnson they could go All the way. Fark what a nightmare. :( :(

Anyway enough said on this subject lets get off it and stick to the Finals.

Hey the worst we can do if we lose is two more games and one of them at home. CLA at CLA will be hard as that is a hoodoo ground for us at the best of times. Lose that then a home game should see us through to the GF but getting ahead of myself B)

Gotta head out so just a quickie
Well done to the Colts and Ressies. Reserves in Finals to play EP next week at CLA.
League side had a good run even though losing against the SWANS whingers who can certainly not blame the umpires with a least 4 given to them.
We missed some easy shots that cost us the game in the end. Few errors but at least Bill has had a good look at where we are at and will be a different game v CLA at Hoodoo park.
Finally my condolences to the EF guys who got up but by us losing missed out. Just gotta win those close ones guys and you would of been well and truely in the game.
EP will have a few AFL next week so best of luck to Swans at Basso but it will be a huge task.

Nerve racking afternoon. I felt that Swans had control of the game for most of the day, however West Perth were always within striking distance and could have won the game with any sort of run on. Both teams played better up into the breeze and the defences were generally on top. In the last quarter there were a few nervous looks amongst Swans fans when the news came through that East Fremantle had hit the front against Claremont, but luckily the boys were good enough to hold on.

Jamie Bennell played the best game of his career I reckon, Twomey was great, Lobb was heroic, just think if Lammie hadn't left the club, this guy would have still been in reserves. Notte just continues to provide a contest, he would be a good mature age recruit for an AFL club I reckon as he is a lot stronger now than when he was at the Eagles. Matt Rogers was great again, his tackling really stood out today. Elari and Rogers will be looking forward to their first final. Ames was just Ames and really is a rock in the backline. Ryan Davis is another guy who perhaps deserves another chance at AFL level

Credit to West Perth for keeping the effort up till the final siren in a game that really had little meaning for them compared with Swans. They should believe that they can win the 2nd semi because I don't think Claremont are unbeatable by an long shot. As for Swans, no doubt we will be facing a battalion of West Coast Eagles players next week, but at least Embley will be back for us assuming he comes out of his 250th AFL game unscathed.
