DF, no, I'm just going off what has been discussed here and the article written by Townsend. Everyone seems resigned to it.

Thanks Ted.
I think I heard that the WAFL said they wouldn't stop it.
I've not heard any definitive statement from WCE that he's been signed.
I will live in hope for a positive outcome, given Robbie Wiley being at the Club with his teammates.

Ted Nugent wrote: Smokey, unfortunately I think we will struggle with points to get someone like Brooksby. Our recruiting is probably done, as Dela, Murphy and Masten cost 27 points. The WAFC, in their wisdom, decided that finishing 6th in consecutive warranted docking Perth 20 points. Never mind that we finished last in 3 of the previous 4 seasons.

The President said at the last member forum that we were in a position to go out ang recruit three high points players. I think there is room for one more, whether that's a ruckman or key forward I suppose depends on where they intend to use Delahunty and how much league football they expect DBW to play in 2020.

Ted Nugent wrote: I hope you're right, Smokey. Yeo may come down given it's his 3rd year. And, yes we otherwise don't have any high point players. Plus we can seek an exemption from the WAFC, especially on the basis that we have been denied McInnes by the Eagles reserves. It wouldn't count for much if he went to another real WAFL club, but the WAFC must be aware it's a bad look for an AFL to deprive the WAFL's worst performed team of a key home grown player.

But it's weird the way the WAFC gave us 130 points, then held a review recommending we promote home grown players. Then, when we may finally have the money to use the extra points, they get taken away. If there's some logic to all that, it's lost on me.

A players points get halved after the third season and then every year after that. So Yeo's points will be halved for the 2021 season.

Was that before or after the points reduction?

Masten 12
Delahunty 10
Murphy 5

Maybe 1 more but it’ll be tight

Tropiano wont be worth 5 points if he plays for the Demons next year. Has spent three and a half years at the Demons so he would probably be worth 3 points if he plays for Perth in 2020.

It was in October but I'd say that he would have known about the points reduction when he made that comment.

Having a quick look at the list I have roughly estimated that we have around 54 players on the team with a points value of roughly 71. With the additions of Kieran Delahunty, 10 points, Ryan Murphy, 5 and Chris Masten, 12 this takes us to roughly 98 points used.

So we should have enough for either a ruckman or key forward and possibly Tropiano.

And Cody training and playing with Masto will learn more about how to prepare to be an AFL player including team structures. Masto might be more value than just his playing ability. Tropiano should start thinking about us having a pretty strong team next year and playing finals is a real possibility and anything is possible from there. He adds to the chances of that possibility.

And when I looked recently Cary and Etto were still on the list. They need to go.

That’s the key for success, not only top shelf recruiting the likes of Mastenn but also holding on to our top line players the likes of Leggett.
We also have to work hard to get the likes of Tropiano back to the club.

I still think we are short a qualityy KP down back.
Don’t know how we can fit Ruckman,KP forward and KP back in from here,I suspect the club will go with Eyres and Delahunty the latter as the KP forward and doing some ruck work.
