Smokey, unfortunately I think we will struggle with points to get someone like Brooksby. Our recruiting is probably done, as Dela, Murphy and Masten cost 27 points. The WAFC, in their wisdom, decided that finishing 6th in consecutive warranted docking Perth 20 points. Never mind that we finished last in 3 of the previous 4 seasons.

Ted, do you know how many players comprise the points cap?
After those 3 recruits we have Yeo 7?, Bryan and Payne each 3 points, Giblett 2, Coniglio 5,Lague?, then the rest 1 pointers. Some of these may reduce in 2020.
We do have to find a ruckman and a forward.

Papertalk and Clint Jones are still on the list with neither to play footy next year. I daresay if a deal comes along, they can be chucked off the list pretty quickly to make way

I hope you're right, Smokey. Yeo may come down given it's his 3rd year. And, yes we otherwise don't have any high point players. Plus we can seek an exemption from the WAFC, especially on the basis that we have been denied McInnes by the Eagles reserves. It wouldn't count for much if he went to another real WAFL club, but the WAFC must be aware it's a bad look for an AFL to deprive the WAFL's worst performed team of a key home grown player.

But it's weird the way the WAFC gave us 130 points, then held a review recommending we promote home grown players. Then, when we may finally have the money to use the extra points, they get taken away. If there's some logic to all that, it's lost on me.

Papertalk and Jones aren't on your list- which is the website list. You guys must be close to the max when you add in Masten 12 points.

1 x 7 pointer (Yeo)
1 x 10 pointer (Delahunty)

KC, when the list is finalised after pre season cuts there won’t be 69 players on it.
I guess the final list will have 55 players on it at most. If Troppo does not play for us we save 5 points. I’m sure it will all sort out in the final wash up.
In any event does not the cap apply only to the primary list of 41 players which can be altered between each fixture depending on injuries etc. As I understand it the players on the primary list are untouchable.
I am sure someone will put me in my place if I am on the wrong track.
