We had 31 fewer marks against Claremont, so it's a problem. Forward entries are hard to understand. We have a small forward but we go in long. If BJ has a decent game in the reserves, maybe bring him in place of Bennell. Not happy with the coaching today. Let's be honest: not one Perth fan or player would have believed for a second that we could win this game. We should have played one loose in defence the whole game. As it is, we lost about 6% this game, so we have lost nearly 20% against Subi in two games.

Subiaco are a super team, arguably the best State League club in the country. Forget all the arguments about them and allow reality to take over.
For Perth the gap is as wide if not wider than ever. No matter how you look at it we are just not in the same league.
We cannot question the endeavour of the players, including Christian Eyres who I thought played a top game tonight. We won the clearances but gave up the footy too easily
However we are just not good enough. We need players who can kick goals. Not just one but 2 talls for targets who can take contested marks or lead for marks on the run. Our small forwards are giving us little and this has become another problem this season. We need a big strong ruckman to lead the following division and impact all over the ground.
Skill level is generally not good enough. We are going to need at least 2 midfielders, one to replace CJ on the inside and another with outside pace.
And then we need to add to our depth.
We are just way off the mark IMO and a complete review of the playing squad is required to address the deficiencies including the general overall lack of skill and good old fashioned football smarts.

A lot to like about Perth tonight. If you look at the stats you'd think it would be a close game but your guys efficiency in the front half compared to ours and our defensive unit were the differences. You more than held your own in the midfield but it was just about our structures in defence for mine which gave us the edge. I also couldn't understand why Sing played on Sokol when Vermeersch would have been a better match up. I think you'll play finals given your draw for the rest of the season and look forward to going up against you then.

Agree Ted. Nothing was done to stop Sokol. Generally game day tactics are deficient if not non apparent.

BC we are so far behind you guys and the gap gets wider every year.
Based on pure endeavour, our players deserve the right to play finals this year but I do not want to play your boys. I fear for what may happen in a final against Subiaco and I do not want to see our club humiliated.

We have always had players that try the facts are the gap between our 5 best players and the rest is huge.
Lots of players out there tonight played like reserves players struggling with the faster tempo at league level.
just throw the ball on the boot or handball willy nilly to a player being covered and hope for the best.

When you play Subi you have to role out a different game plan, tight defence by our half forwards on there running half backs and man up on loose players 10 to 20 metres away from stoppages. And for christ sake when you have a midget forward line dont just bomb it in.

Smokey i reckon we have been way off the mark for a long long long time and tbh i dont see things changing
.
Just a thought on next season i know Shane Kersten is no world beater but i reckon he could hold down a KP forward role at wafl level, can only see Gold coast picking him up and thats highly unlikely.

BC how do you figure Subi are going to go up against Perth in the finals???

And you can add Langdon to that list.

Yes to Ninyette, Roe and Bennell. No to the other two

30+ I did mention Kersten earlier in the season as a possible recruit if the Dockers drop him. He would be a good get but we need more. Another tall and now it seems we need a couple of smart small forwards as well
I hope that we are sounding out possible recruits already and not waiting until after Christmas.

By "standards" Ted do you mean kicking efficiency, decision making, fitness/skill levels, coaching nous?.....surely if it's a financial thing a mere whip round the Perth fans outside HJ's should facilitate rises in "standards" you were shouting for Ted....money talks apparently....sounds like Sokol was the difference here.....which AFL club did Subi recruit him from again?....not sure why Sokol has been able to deliver at Subi and not SF.....oh yeah better the pay packet better the man apparently.....if Subi can simply "buy" standards with their AFL contrived millions....surely Perth can do too with that war chest of theirs?....nup you guys want to spend it on a spud like Kersten....FMD you think the Perth powers above and even the Perth fans would of learnt from the Graham, Morton x 3 and Spencer White fiascos.....enlighten us how an injury prone spud like Kersten is gonna lift the standards at the PFC?
