I just got home, missed the last 5 to get the kids to bed. I was very proud of the vast majority of our players. Improvement has got to come from a couple of guys who pulled out or didn't contest when they should. Also of course our entry into the forward 50. Frustrating particularly when Freo have the same problem. Our around the ground play was tough as a whole.
I thought Eyers, Leggett, Jones and Rodgers very good. Gordon needs time in the Ressies - just not confident or committing to the contest. Fairly good crowd of about 1000 for a Thursday night.

What we failed to do was raise our standard. I was waiting in vain for Earl to issue that instruction. In desperation, I yelled from the the back of the quarter time huddle "raise your standard, boys!" but I don't think they heard me.

Bennell has played his last league game. He is soft, lazy, disinterested and goes to ground if you look at him the wrong way. Ninja having a poor season and needs a spell in the reserves. I thought our small forwards were ok going into the year, now it presents as yet another area we need to recruit. I thought our effort was ok but forward line entries were poor, forwards themselves were poor and like last week, Subi took intercept marks at will. Too many basic skill errors.

Singha, you've lost the plot. You used to be quite measured, but coming out with something like "Subi are the most maligned team with umpires in WAFL history" is unbelievably puerile. Grow up.

Just checked the full time stats. 7 more possessions, 32 less marks, 3 more tackles, 32 more hit outs, 4 less inside fifties. Should not have been a 58 pt loss.

I’ve been a big fan of Earl but fair dinkum what are you thinking playing a debutant on the state full forward who is only getting an opportunity due to injuries to Jarred Bell, Mitch Lague and Zac Hill? Talk about throwing the kid into the lions, literally. Connor to his credit competed well in the second half and held his own but not on Sokol I presume.

It’s the last time I’ll go to watch a game when you continue to show faith in blokes who are not putting in or not performing. It sets a bad example at the club. Narrier, Bennell and Ninyett are not going to improve this football club. Outstanding game by Marshall Jones that’s the only positive I can take out of this game TBH.

I would bring in Thompson, Martin and Johnson next week and maybe play Langdon down back due to our injuries. Edmonds doesn’t do enough for mine, he fumbled the ball too much at crucial times. I’d bring in Marlin for him. So for me it’s Thompson, Johnson, Martin in to give us a forward presence. Out goes Ninyette, Bennell and Narrier and Marlin in for Edmonds.

I hear so many people screaming for the forwards to do something but FFS the ball use going forward was woeful !!!! Yes a few mistakes from the forwards but terrible entry.
I also have to give Earl a spray - why young Sing to make his debut against Sukhole? Surely this Marlin was the obvious choice to come in tonight. We needed every big body we can against Subi.
Again Earl FFS mix it up do something different when you’re 6 goals behind.
Next game I want to see D BW play and share the ruck with Ayres, leaving Langdon as a tall forward. We have some height in the squad let’s use it!
