According to the West, Ninja has been referred to the tribunal for a dangerous tackle and is likely to get 4 weeks. I would think that Payne would have to come in given his form in the reserves. I agree with other posters that Garstone has been disappointing, but I don't see him being replaced. Firstly, the stats don't suggest that Johnson or Scotney are tearing it up in the reserves. Secondly, Garstone is our tallest player and I think he is important structurally. He has missed two seasons of senior footy, so hopefully he will improve as the season goes on. I wouldn't make any changes to the team now given our winning form, but Langdon, Dennis and Smith need to improve. 1 goal from Dennis is not good enough. Hoping to see Narrier put his hand up soon but his stats in the twos are not compelling.

Today's West says Ninja has been offered 2 weeks. I think we'd have to accept that. Given the Claremont guy was knocked out, plus Ninja's tribunal record, it could have been worse. If Payne comes in and performs, it will be interesting to see what happens when Ninja returns. You would think there would be real pressure on Dennis or Smith to keep their spot. Just a quick note re Bennell: if he can get his hands on the ball more often he will start kicking serious bags. He has 14.3 for the season (outstanding accuracy), but has a combined total of 33 disposals across 5 games. So one in every two disposals is a shot on goal. If he can start to amass 12-15 touches a game our scoring power should improve.

It will be interesting to see who Earl brings in as his replacement. Gordon Narrier has not been getting much of the football but we know what he is capable of when the ball is in his hands. I thought Hendo and Browne were unlucky to lose their spots after the first couple of weeks.

Ninja touches it 10 to 20 times in a game and makes most of them count. Doubt anyone in the twos had his class but at least Payne will touch it plenty and hope fully have an impact...
