It's going to be hard to leave some players out of the league team. The young players are playing well and should keep their spot in the side. Particularly Boyle and Sinclair.

Our backline will have to deal with the double threat of Tony Notte and Tim Geapen next week and Swans midfield has plenty of players that can hurt you.

Who would you have in the squad for the Swans game? In order of importance I would have:

1. Daniel Murray
2. David Johnston
3. Simon Tunbridge (if available)
4. Julian Jacobs
5. Brennan Stack

Travis Casserly, Adam Faulkner, Dayle Gartlett all had good games for Swans reserves against the Tigers. Will Andrew Embley play a second game for Swans?

I'm pretty sure Tunbridge has another week. Stack and Murray would come straight in. Don't know who would miss. Good problem to have.

Will be a very hard game this week. Either way will give us a good idea where we are. We know 1 bad quarter against the Swans and they will put us away and not good them coming off a bad loss

Swans will be livid after that loss to the Tigers. It's going to be a bloody hard game and we will need to be switched on from 2pm-5pm. Even a 5 or a 10 minute lapse can cost us.

Comparing the SF game to the Peel game I thought we were able to string more patches of good football together and sustain them for a lot longer. Hoping that we can do this for even longer this week. Swans are a top 3 outfit and it's going to take nothing more than our absolute best to stay in the game or to be in a position to take the 4 points.

Mr AFL I think our disposal is a lot better and I think that comes from a bit of confidence in our ability. I'm sure some of that is coming from the senior players particularly those with AFL experience.

The poise being shown by the likes of Bateman, Bevan, Reimers, Sketcher, Risol, O'Sullivan is rubbing off on the younger players.

I think we can be very competitive this year and our biggest advantage will be the disrespect some sides will show us.

Do you think there is more feeling in the team?

I do.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

We are no where near as talented as we were last year and have lost a lot of experience. I think that is something that most would agree on. In saying that though I do think that this years squad looks like they always want to have a go. Players like Matthew Boyle and Michael Sinclair have been pretty impressive in the opening rounds. Boyle particularly yesterday having 20 possessions and kicking the sealer. Loved the little fist pump he did at the end as he strolled into the goal :)

Our second game of the year was an improvement from the opening round, however we are still havent played a whole quarter of footy yet. We are making improvements as I say each game and hopefully this continues and our performances do as well.

I'm not getting carried away with the two opening wins and not going to make any predictions this early in the season. One thing I will say though is that wins early in the season are great and they build confidence in the players and as a result of this sometimes you see teams win games they would have been pencilled in for a loss.

reckon you boys will find out more about your 'feeling' after games against stronger WAFL teams....be interested to see what a difference Zac Clarke or Ben Saunders would of made to those two games.....though you can onl;y beat what's put in front of you and that's probably been Perths downfall over the years, winning games when they weren't expected to and losing games they were supposed to win.

These guys have been mentioned.

1. Daniel Murray
2. David Johnston
3. Simon Tunbridge (if available)
4. Julian Jacobs
5. Brennan Stack

What do people think about

1. Cameron Manuel
2. Reese Richardson
3. Jarod Irons
4. Joel Houghton

BTW -

Like Chance's voice on the field.

Love how McInnes keeps presenting - He takes the best back man and gives opposing coach something to think about due to his size. Not saying he had a good game. His confidence is shot atm but the only way is up for him.

Happy that Ranstead stayed on Magumba but must show he has learn't from it. If not ?Houghton or Johnston (who I admit I know nothing about)

Is this Johnston a big guy.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

I heard at the footy on Saturday that Stack may not be around for some time. Anyone know if this is true?

1. Cameron Manuel brooke through for a couple of league games last year and showed signs that he could be handy. He's going ok in the reserves atm and averaging pretty good numbers. I'm sure if he keeps doing this then sooner or later he will break through for another game.

2. I really like the Richo man. Had a quiet game against Peel and then found more of the footy against the Dogs. Personally think he will be a very good player, just needs to find some consistency in the reserves.

3. Jarrad Irons Had 20 possessions, 6 marks and 3 tackles for the reserves in round one. Hasn't played since. Is he injured?

4. Joel Houghton Going ok in the reserves without setting the world on fire. If he can string a good 3-4 games together then he might find is way back into the league team.

And TFAF, David Johnston (no.36) played all the scratchies from memory and missed round one with an arm injury. If it wasn't for that would have played round one IMO. Was eased back throught the reserves and had 20 possessions, 6 marks and 1 inside 50. He is about 191cm, 92 kg.

I reckon he will play this week as we have to have two talls to counteract Geappen and Notte.
