Great to hear zucca is back certainly will add some depth to the backline always did his job at fullback

Zucca is 30 this year and hasn't played WAFL for 3 seasons.

That he is smokey. I don't think he will be the answer that we all need down back but one thing I will say is, he is a great club person who will bleed for the red 'n' black. At worst he gives us another option down there and will always give 110%.

Welcome back Zucca if you have returned. I look forward to seeing how you will progress this season after being out of WAFL action for a while.

Mmm never thought mentioning Zucca as a past player I would be reading this. He was always in good knick no surprise there but he seemed to lose the motivation and hunger to play WAFL when he left. He would probably still be in our best 25 if he's got the hunger. I wonder how his hammy's will stand up at 30 years of age?

Yep and in his last season was injured for the best part of it.

Heaven help us if he's the Key Defender we want.
I'd say the game at this level has gone past him.

C'mon boys give Zucca a break I'm sure he's giving it his all.

With the recruiting done so far maybe we couldn't find any key backs. Off the top of my head I cant recall any other WAFL teams signing any key backs this offseason.

We have signed Stephen Mills and Zucca is training and has been since day one of the preseason which to may says he's keen to have a crack and finally play is 100th game.

Whether you classify these two as key players or whatever they will add depth to a backline that will either push Johnson and Latch to play better or they will take their spot in the team.

Last season there was nobody other than Latch and Johnson. Id much rather prefer to have Zucca there waiting in the wings because you know what you are going to get with him and that's 110% for the red 'n' black.

It just a matter of opinion Mr AFL, nothing personal,if it works out great.
Zucconi is worth only 1 point so theres no dramas in giving him a go.

Im not convinced there were no backs out there in recruiting land and that we couldnt find any.
Forwards,rucks and mids is where the competitive market place is for recruiting players,not to many clubs sign "gun" backmen.

TBH it has surprised me that we havent thus far recruited an experienced KP backman.

No-one can question his loyalty to the Perth Football Club...I presume he still carries the tattoo of a Demon on his arm.
At 191 and 93 he is a good size. If he is motivated and fully fit to play WAFL footy he would be better than just a depth player with his versatility to hold down a defensive key position and/or back-up ruckman.
If he has been training since before Xmas it sounds that he is committed to a return to Perth and bring up his 100th appearance. I am not sure how many he has to go but he must be close.
I don't think that 100 games is his only incentive. Let's see how he goes. As DD alluded to, I hope his 30 years old hammys are also committed.
