Mr AFL, that is good news if Kelvin Lawrence has moved on.

We are obviously working on clearing him, that's why he is still on the list.

I can highly recommend him to Peel.

Mr AFL if your calculations are correct and Lawrence has gone we are virtually left with 4 points which means recruiting is over for this season??... unless there are any players with more than 1 point still to be cut.

It would be hard to get every position that we need filled in one summer but I think 'ON PAPER' the recruiting done this offseason ahs been very specific. Hopefully this means an improvement in 2016.

High point player or would this player be worth somewhere between 3-5 points?

I agree we have been specific in recruiting to bolster our forward line and midfield but we havent made our backline any stronger.

A stronger midfield will take some pressure off the backline but just by how much over a full 4 quarters is the big question.

We have had the worst defence in the comp the past 2 years, leaking through more points than any other defence and i cant see us improving a great deal on that stat in 2016.

30+ it is true that our defence has been a weak point but to be fair they have been undermanned and weakened at times with the "robbing Peter to pay Paul" approach with Latch and Johnston being asked to pinch hit on the ball.
It may sound strange but our weakness last season was the dysfunctional forward line which often caused the ball to be rushed out of the opposition defence into attack and adding extreme pressure on an often undermanned defence.
I expect that with a much stronger midfield and some decent ball movement to key targets in attack the pressure will be less on the backline and they will settle down into a more than useful unit.

Agree with the points you have made 30 plus. One thing I will say is that we turned the ball over a lot last season which resulted in missed opportunities for us going forward and also turnovers which the opposition scored from. I reckon this probably cost us on average 4 goals a game.

With another preseason under the belt and the team hopefully being better equipped to carry out the game plan I hoping that the turnovers don't happen as frequently in 2016. This would obviously help us be in matches for longer.

I agree.
Latch is still young and if relieved of ruck necessity, along with Johnston may well do the job.
A better midfield and less turnovers may relieve some pressure.
We still have a couple of players taking valuable points, who need to tep up or be cut.
