I was thinking at that stage that Swans were cooked and all Perth needed to do was push up and score one more goal and that was it for us. This is where the Dees should have really put their foot on the throat and pushed for that goal but I thought they were just content to hang back and kick the ball around to each other.

All it needed was a turnover and a quick goal by Swans and this is what happened and the Ducks seemed to lift from there and had all the momentum. I know its easy to be critical of your own team when beaten but credit must go to our guys who never gave up even though it looked like they were shot. There is a real spirit about this team that is the most obvious since 2010 and that is why I have enjoyed the first four weeks of the season. They are playing for the jumper and Harding should take a bow for bringing them all together like this. Things will get tougher for them make no mistake but they are giving us fans their money's worth at the moment.

One thing I noticed about Perth was their tendancy to kick the ball around the 50 metre arc continually until they could spot up a lead in the forward line. This is a common tactic for AFL clubs but I wonder if WAFL teams are skilled enough to do this consistently. Perth did get a few goals from this patient build up but there were a number of stuff ups as well. Sometimes it may be just better to put it to the top of the square and trust your forwards to take a grab.

We need to chip it around Mikeh, we don't have any key forwards that we can just bomb the ball inside50 .

Fair point Peter but Perth looked at their most dangerous today when they moved the ball quickly into their 50 and had the Swans defence under pressure like in the 3rd quarter.

Got a bit emotional today and told Manuel (as the were working off) he should make sure to ask for ressies next week. Got a filthy look from Jarrod Morton and rightly so. I want to be able to celebrate the wins and wont be able to if i give in to abuse. Just hope that Manuel cares as much as I do.

Pretty piss weak having a crack at the player's you should be aiming your frustrations at the clown in charge.

That's crap. I'm definitely not a McMahon fan but he can't kick the farken thing for them. We did everything to win that game then did everything to lose it. His coaching was fine today. Poor skill errors and decision making again at critical times was the difference I could name 3-4 blatant ones but won't bother. To be honest Manual was pathetic today. Not even close to league standard. Dene White was an absolute warrior. Power looked very good. No tall forwards again when it counted and they had 3. I had no emotion when the siren went coz the minute we got 3 goals in front I felt sick. We would have been better off being behind with 10 minutes to go. And the umps kissed us on the dick today without questions

Sacko i agree poor skills yet again!!
O'Sullivan, for a senior player was one of the worst offenders, his out on the full when under no pressure on the members wing cost us a goal as did Manuel under no pressure in the last quarter at a crucial time in the game and that was the start of the Swans revival, out on the full turnover goal!

However imo McMahon made a blunder with about 5 minutes to go in the last quarter,he decided to put Moody as a spare yeah thats ok to stop the bleeding but not with 5 minutes to go and not when we just lost the lead.
That imo was a tactical error in the box,his instruction should have been all out attack,Moody as a spare was a useless ploy at that time of the game.
We had to win the game not protect the lead(which we didnt have),the time for a spare was when we were 3 golas up with 6 or 7 minutes left in the game, imo.
This may not have cost us the game but it certainly didnt help us to win it either.

when I saw that happen i thought maybe the scoreboard is wrong as it had been throughout the day for the reserves and league games.
Moody ran straight on and into the Swans forward line, it was very strange..

I take your point but after giving up 5 goals in the first 7 minutes without us having 10 touches I thought he did a good job getting us back in the game. From the 7 minute mark to the 20 minute mark of the last quarter we were clearly the better side yet still couldn't get the job done. I sat under the score board and watched our captain try to thread a a 20 meter pass that went out on the full. 1 minute later Jarrod Morton (who has been very good) try to kick a torp down the line from the same spot that went 15 meters into the crowd. Unbelievable brain fade. A goal resulted from that. Those things plus the ones you mentioned add up to the goals that cost us in the end. Also with only a few minutes left we were 5 points in front Cale Morton tried to take a bloke on when all he had to do was get it over the top to Stacky who would have waltzed in but what happened? Had 1 bounce too many and kicked it out on the full. They took it down and goaled.

I'm still not over that result from the weekend. Was as disappointing as the game against south when we were 50 points up. We have a pretty good working class side with no game breakers. Another 6-8 finish coming up you can bet on it

Sacko i think your right in your last paragraph.
In 3 weeks we could be on the losing end of 5 straight games following on from the West Perth and Swans losses.

East Perth away next week, there talls will kill us.I dont give us much hope.
Peel the following week at Rushton Park,we wont find them as easy as other teams have thus far,we will probably play them into form.
Then back at home V the form team of the comp Subi,at home this game is probably a 50/50 bet.

It could get ugly over the next month or so!

Perth has been Subi's achilles heel over the last few years so I wouldn't write that one off just yet.
