That's right, a good appointment in my opinion successful premiership player and a very mobile ruckman if I remember correctly.

I think he could have an impact on Eyres as well as someone like Borrett.

I like Eyres he is rarely beaten for the tap and just needs to do more around the ground and particularly take more marks. In 25 league games has averaged nearly 21 hitouts per game.

And is very competitive.

Welcome Cale. I look forward to seeing the Morton Gang playing together.
Blake Borrett would be a very good pickup. Obviously he had limited opportunities at EP and with a ruck coach now on board our ruck stocks can only improve.
If Leyendekkers stays we will have good depth and versatility.

The football dept should be commended for adding 180 AFL games to our list in 12 months in 3 players all under 30!

3 brothers originating from another club, all playing at an opposition club at the same time.....is that a first in the WAFL?.....surely a first for the PFC?......Joel Houghton has put on 6 -7 kgs?.....sheet he must weigh all of 70kgs now? :P

Tiger of Old.....Ruck was a premiership player.....reserves premiership player v EF?....surely you are not down playing the fella's achievement?......a flag at any level is a great achievement don't you think.....thus categorizes him as a premiership player.

Freeze, I think you'll find that young Houghton is up around the 90kg mark now. At 194cm that makes him a pretty good size all-round. Size wise I'd liken him a little bit to Clancy Wheeler at Subiaco. He's a good young kid and still only young at 22; always plays for the jumper IMO and hopefully it's his time to stand up and make a real impact based on the potential that was seem in him a few years ago.

1961 I think Joel showed a lot of his potential late in the year this last season.

Played a lot of really good stuff in the ressies.

I hope he does continue to develop.

Agreed DF. That was what I was alluding to above, in the league games that he played for us this year I liked what I saw and the extra kilos he's put on certainly won't do him any harm.
I've always liked his potential and hoped that he would be a late bloomer, but more importantly I've always liked the way that he hasn't dropped his head whilst toiling away in the ressies and the spirit amd enthusiasm he's shown when getting a league berth. I think that shows a bit of character because it would have been very easy for him as a youngster to spit the dummy after being AFL de-listed and then struggling to get a regular league game with his WAFL club. Come on Joel, lets see what you've really got!!
